Red Gravy offers upscale casual modern Italian fare.
Chef/Owner Eric Brenner spent his first decade in the industry inside Italian kitchens. Talking up St. Louis' wide-ranging Italian eatery scene, which gets as specific as regional specialties, he says he's wanted to have a place like this since he was 18.
"We're going to start very simple and accessible," he says, "we'll play to the crowd and start a dialogue, then grow the menu with community input."
"Simple," includes dishes like his tomato bisque, with which only has five ingredients. "It's all about the perfect balance. And that gets back to the essence of good Italian food: quality ingredients, very few, in perfect balance." Other examples include his St. Louis-style, thin-crust pizza, best compared to a flat-bread.

First visit here and the food was amazing! Friendly staff and attentive to details. Loved the garlic cheese bread. Look forward to a return visit.

The sauce / gravy / whatever you call it on the spaghetti is amazing. It's not traditional - it's just awesome. I ate my leftovers at 8:47 am this morning and in no way am I embarrassed about that.

We have been dining at Red Gravy over the last couple years at least two to three times a month as our go to downtown Colorado Springs for Italian food. The food and bartenders is what stands out as exemplary.

Went on a quiet Monday evening. We had a great waitress and bartender. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend stopping in.

Megan was our waitress last night and just like every visit the wait staff was phenomenal. But I have to say Megan was amazing we saw all the tables she had and I'll be honest it would have been fully understandable for her to not have been on top of drinks all night and we'd still have given her 5 stars just cause she was everywhere helping the customers. But we were really impressed cause she was 110% on top of it. My water was never empty she made sure to be conversational and friendly and was absolutely amazing and everything was done as if we were the only customers she had even though her section was busy. Thank you Megan for being amazing!

Nice atmosphere and tasty food. The garlic cheese bread is very good, especially with the tomato cream dipping sauce. I liked the Chicken Marsala’s artichokes and gnocchi pasta. My partner enjoyed the crispy eggplant parmigiana. Wine by the glass was reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. We’d definitely go back!

Attractive, well laid out restaurant. Very solid Italian food, at a very reasonable price. Nice special price offerings on certain nights and Happy Hour. Lost our favorite Italian restaurant in Palmer Lake, glad we found this one.

We were a group of 9 and made a reservation ahead of time. The greatest flaw in the operation was the setting of expectations and lack of communication about the "experience" they were creating for us. Which meant food showed up nearly 2 hours after we sat down. We watched other tables who arrived later, get their food pay and leave before our entrees arrived. For our trouble they removed 1 appetizer from our 500.00 + bill which came with an already included 20% gratuity. Had they gave us the option of "experience" or "get our food" we would have chosen the latter, but we were not notified of the chef curated experience until 2 hours after we were seated. The staff did not appear to lack hustle, they were very professional, knowledgeable, made great recommendations from the menu and the food was absolutely stellar. If you are bringing a large group that is hungry, I would suggest letting them know you'd like to pass on the "experience"
