Outside dining surrounded by vies of blooming Lillies, large fish, quacking ducks, beautiful Monet Bridge and so much more. For a special occasion this is a wonderful choice.

The food was pretty good, I really enjoyed the pomme purée. The only thing that could have been better was the timing with the food, I got my entree about 10 minutes before my friend got hers which was a little awkward. Overall the food was great and our server, Christina, was very attentive

This was possibly the worst dining experience we’ve had locally. We were early for our 1pm table so were told we’d have to wait. Fair enough. Since we’d seen the bar we headed that way. Bartender was great though very busy making drinks for the whole restaurant as well as his customers. Drinks were good. Server was very sweet. We ordered drinks. 30 minutes later they arrived. Apologies were give throughout that time. We ordered 2 apps, 2 burgers. Apps came out about 15 mins later. Hubs ordered a second glass of wine when the 30-minute one arrived figuring it would take a long time to received. He was correct. Another 30 mins. It’s now 2:20 or so and we have not gotten our burgers. 2 tables in our section gave the manager who was sent to do damage control a rash of unhappiness and walked out saying they would not pay for their food as they’d only had their apps in an hour When out $21 burgers came out what we got were 2 maybe 3-oz patties cooked on a griddle which means soaked in whatever fat they put on the surface to keep them from sticking, the bun, a good lettuce leaf or 2 and a slice of tomato. Diner food at best. The mgr got our food liberated from the kitchen without the potato wedges. Clearly we didn’t care at this point. She offered to buy us a round. Too little too late but we did ask her to comp a round which she did. I wonder if they will get the irony that when you reserve a table it says “please limit your dining to 2hours.” Would that we could have.

Rats never disappoints. Eating outside in such a lovely setting is magical. The food was exceptional. Drinks and wine were great. Service was great. Rats is a gem in Hamilton.

Rats was a beautifully themed restaurant! I felt like I had stepped into a French painting ! The food was delicious and the service adorable! They had my anniversary celebration very special!
