Love the food and sitting outside with all the people milling about and musicians playing makes for a wonderful time!

Unfortunately we hit it on a bad night for the crew, kitchen out of most dishes which we ordered and part came after 45 min, along with ‘we’re out of what you ordered’ Servers were rushed and frazzled, food was mediocre and it wasn’t a great experience, we felt so sorry for the staff as obviously something had happened to put them in this state of mind. We were visiting for the weekend so won’t be back to try Rapture again. Hope they get it worked out.

Everything about Rapture was terrific. The service was prompt, food was delicious and the atmosphere outside was perfect. The only disappointment was the type of fish in the Fish and Chips - tilapia. Yuck. My husband changed his order once our server revealed the fish. But he loved the hamburger he ordered instead.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We picked it for its gluten free options and proximity to a wedding welcome party we were attending after dinner, but it ended up being such a great dining experience! We ate outside for a great ambience and people-watching on the downtown Charlottesville pedestrian mall. The staff was very accommodating to our one year old, who loved his fish and chips kid meal. We also had the gumbo and the tofu banh mi sandwich—both so good! And maybe it’s just cause we hail from Colorado, but the iced tea was amazing. Highly recommend.

What a treasure! We had never been to Rapture, and took friends with us, and all four loved the food and service. We were greeted by the owner, Janet, who could not have been more accommodating, friendly, and efficient. We sat outside and the weather was lovely that day. More importantly, our food was delicious. I’ve often had omelets that are rubbery and tasteless, but Rapture’s are the best—well-seasoned, light and fluffy, and hot (right out of the skillet!). The roasted potatoes were perfect; again unlike some brunch spots, these potatoes were not “stretched” with an over abundance of onions and green peppers. Finally, the bacon was crispy and full of flavor. Great brunch spot!!

Thought we would get dinner menu at 2:30 pm on Sunday but ended up with brunch menu. Food was mediocre and overpriced at best, limited selection and poor quality. I ordered the only thing on the menu that i could eat (a caesar salad with blackened shrimp). The lettuce was browning and nearly too old to serve, the shrimp was scant - 4 pieces - and tasteless - NOT blackened. And despite my clearly stating my aversion to mayonnaise, the dressing had mayonnaise in it. The waiter was kind enough to bring balsamic but even that was tooo mustardy. I ate less than half of my very overpriced salad. My tablemates were less picky than me but overall found their burgers to be pretty meh. I would not eat there again and do not recommend .
