I had an early business dinner, reservations for 4 were @ 5:00. Not much going on that early on a Wednesday, service and food were fantastic. Going to take my wife to the one in Roseville.

Zocalo University Village is HUGE!! And very beautiful. We sat inside although next time I might pick outside on the patio. Sunday at 1:30 and the place was not full, not noisy, but the service was a little slow. However, there is so much to look at around you, you don't really mind except we wanted our cocktails and my sis waited for her cola even longer. The food is beautiful too and a LOT of it. Two of us got the 3-taco selection. I chose fish, shrimp and carnitas (yum) and sis got fish, shrimp and the mushroom which she said was very tasty. Hubby got his usual test meal of chili relleno and was pleased. The meals came with black beans and cilantro rice...A very pretty combo. Parking is plentiful as this Zocalo is in a Safeway market complex. This was my first visit to this location and I would easily take guests, especially visitors, to this restaurant. The midtown Zocalo, which I think was the first in Sacramento, is also very good and beautiful. Outside you are on the sidewalk there and parking is, well, hellish...so I'm glad to have this new to me location on my radar. You won't be disappointed.

Love eating dinner on the back patio at Zocalos. It’s always a nice and relaxing experience. The food is delicious and the black berry margarita is my go to!

We are “regulars” to Zócalo and have enjoyed visiting multiple locations over the years. Our past couple of visits to the University Village location have been lacking in service and food specifically on our last visit when the servers seemed disorganized, and the food came out in many various stages with some errors and lukewarm food. I usually order and enjoy the fish tacos but this trip I decided to try a chicken bowl. The lettuce looked like it had been previously frozen and there was very little of it(I did not eat any of it and too bad because that’s what I was looking forward to). The rest of the bowl was nothing special at a steep cost. Our large family has discussed not returning which is too bad.

Nice service and good food. I didn’t care for the carnitas as they were like pulled pork. Chips and guacamole were excellent and fantastic house margaritas!

The food quality and service were top notch! We were there for a birthday and we appreciated the server asking before singing happy birthday. It was too hot (112) for that! Plenty cool inside though- a nice escape from the heat. Perfect mojito weather!
