It took us 35 minutes to get a drink after we sat down. Everything was very uneven as far as the service. The people were very nice but the poor service ruined the whole experience. Food was interesting and pretty flavorful. I would not return nor would I recommend it.

We had a nice dinner. My partner is always cold and I asked for a warm spot and they seated us next to the heater which was nice. We were looking for a quiet, cozy place to have a nice meal and this was that. We ordered an appetizer called something like "Roasted Vegetable Platter" (in bold) and then they listed other ingredients like "Purple Haze goat cheese gratin" and arugula and hazelnuts, vinaigrette, for $19. What we got was a smear of regular chevre on the plate with what I can only call an arugula salad tossed in vinaigrette with garnishes of cubed beets and I think I got one parsnip cube. It was tasty, but we wouldn't have ordered an arugula salad because we wanted a filling plate of roasted vegetables with some nice garnishes like arugula, also $19 for a salad that was not including the premium cheese gratin wasn't a fair price. There were several other menu substitutions made but when we asked if the grilled lamb part of the lamb duo could be sauteed in the pan and not grilled the server said no without even going to ask the kitchen. We were excited about the purslane that was listed on the lamb dish but again got a whole lot of arugula and no purslane. The banana bread pudding was a nice portion size and delicious. It did have chocolate in it, which wasn't listed on the menu. Again, it was good food, but they didn't stick to the menu. I might go back if I'm in the mood to have nice atmosphere without a lot of attention to the menu, but not if I'm looking to actually eat what I order.

I got to the restasurant earlier than the other two people and I told them I had a reservation and was waiting for the other two. When they arrived, they were told there was no reservtion in my name and the waitperson tried to seat them at a different table - luckily I saw this and directed them to where I was seated. I wanted to order a mocktail off the brunch menu but there was no bartender so there went that idea (no too impressive, huh?). The eggs benedict were fine and the spice sauce on top was a nice addition but I found the potatoes over-roasted and mushy.

A gem that more of us should know about. The food was creative, flavorful and beautifully presented, our service was attentive and bespoke and warm thanks to Ella, who was delightful and made our evening so nice. It was pretty quiet, but of course it was Monday night, a holiday, and inauguration day, so people may have been hunkered down at home. I would encourage everyone to give it a try, the steak was delicious, the lamb ribs were crispy and great, and we had a really nice hummus and appetizer. Give Zino a try!

Excellent Food / service & ambience superb If u want a memorable evening with good food this is it. We were a party of 3 came for a early dinner at 5pm . It was fairly busy for Christmas Day dinner. Filled up more in the evening. We started our dinner with Prosecco wine followed with the salad & tomato soup Main orders we ordered 2 risotto very delicious, highly recommend it if you are or even not a vegetarian . And we had the Chicken, very delicious, sauce was great. Zino restaurant is in the 1910 hotel Shattuck it beckons charm & simple lines of beauty of past era but very modern variation. We had a great corner window seat & could admire the whole dinning room & view outside . I would come back to Zino. Whether it is for special occasions like Christmas dinner or even just regular dining . I would highly recommend it. Price was reasonable for the quality of food , the ambience was lovely & service very attentive. Thank you Zino Chef , kitchen crew& service staff for a excellent memorable Christmas dinner . Ambience & White Table Cloth Tables were a Great Dining experience. Food was good though missing more variety, Salmon was great, had both hot and cold! Will dine again next year!

The food was decent quality and very reasonably priced. What I enjoyed most about this restaurant was its cleanliness, simple menu and spacious dining. Plus, the ambience was quiet with low-volume Christmas music in the background. Zino's was truly the best restaurant choice in which to celebrate my UC Berkeley graduation directly after the ceremony ended. The staff had a lovely sense of humor and even wished me congratulations.

Very convenient after Cal winter graduation but training a new bartender so some drinks did not arrive until we finished our meal. Nice atmosphere.
