    We were outside, in the shade, welcoming every breeze. Husein our waiter was friendly and professional and helpful. The servers delivering food to the table identified each dish clearly. A memorable dinner with family.

    Zaytinya continues to be my go-to restaurant downtown for special occasions. Food was first rate - 4 of the 5 dishes were excellent! Only one of the dishes ordered, fried eggplant, was disappointing. The restaurant has a noise problem, and it was not that crowded. Service was quite good, though we had to wait a bit to get a pita refill.

    The food is wonderful, but every possible seat has been put in the available space and even outside it was too loud to easily carry on a conversation. Several times, wait staff or other diners brushed our shoulders as they walked through the narrow gap between our table and the next. I know these are hard times for restaurants, and I really wanted to love this place (and did love the food!). Maybe on a weeknight it would be a pleasant, as well as expertly and inventively prepared, meal. On this night, it was such a difficult space to enjoy the meal in that we left without finishing.

    One of my favorite restaurants in DC and I adore Jose Andres. Love the selection of wine and every dish that comes out was amazing. You can see the coordination with the staff that comes together to provide a great experience.

    Service was not good for a restaurant in this category. The waiter delayed with everything or forgot. Spent much time talking to other customers. Only milk available for coffee is whole milk. Food was not too tasty. The place is beautiful, though. I don’t think I would visit again.
