Zafra is Italian at heart, but each dish is created by Frank Tyler - the chef / proprietor -

The menu hosts an extensive collection of Italian favourites such as our signature dish seafood stew with a twist of linguine. We specialized in fresh fish daily seabass, bream, mussels, Mackeral swordfish, what shall Frank cook for you. , and fab raviolis like artichoke, crab, mushroom, and gorgonzola and walnut. Mmmm.
Zafra’s is the perfect place for lunch, dinner, celebrations, an intimate dinner or a get-together with friends.
Our new low carb project has started in Ernest in collaberation with colne valley nhs trust trying out new no carb option like edame bean and soy pastas and gluton free pizza bases. To help reduce diabetes in our community.

Simply one of the best meals I have tasted. Linguine Marinara, with chilli to your taste. Full of sea food and fish.

Good food choice and price range. Relaxed atmosphere yet you still felt that you were on a night out. The staff are freindly and not at all pretentious and the chef/owner chats to all customers at the end of the evening

This was a lunchtime visit. The service was perfect, attentive and not intrusive. The food was as authentically Italian as any I have ever tasted in Italy. Quite simply, this place is a little gem, and if you pass it by without being tempted in by the wonderful menu, you will be missing a gastronomic treat. Top marks!

Have eaten at Zafra several times before when living local but still willing to travel 30 mins to eat there , Food is always excellent and good value and the setting in the middle of Finchingfield is a bonus Frank the owner certainly knows his way around the kitchen and the fish dishes are always a must at for me . 16 years he’s run the place now so he must be doing something right !
