Yunnan By Potomac Noodle House strives to be an ambassador for the people and culture of Southwest China and add to the story of what it means to be Chinese-American through our lens on contemporary Yunnan cuisine. Not your typical Chinese food, the Soul Food of Yunnan is Mixian - a light and almost fluffy rice noodle - which is prepared with braised meats, rich broths and sweet, savory and spicy sauces (vegetarian options available). Other specialties include various small plates, handmade dumplings, bao buns, and satisfying desserts. Come experience the flavors of Yunnan through our unique menu, handcrafted cocktails, extensive beer, wine, & saké menu as well as a variety of non-alcoholic beverages like Pu'er tea and House Lemonade.

Absolutely excellent. The noodle bowls were rich and packed with flavor; the dumplings were delicious; and the cocktails were lovely (if not a bit on the weak side). The ambiance was sleek but warm and it was relatively quiet. Good service too. Will definitely return!

I've been eager to take my husband here since my first visit over the summer. He loved it, too! We will definitely be back. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent.

I have come to this restaurant 3 times and it is fantastic. The venue is nice and cozy, the service excellent. Each person interacts with you in such a polite and happy manner. And the food......the food is amazing. I have loved each dish I have tried and I leave happy and with a full belly. I got the chance to take my folks there when they were in town and they became fans immediately.

The food and selection was excellent! The service provided by the waiters was great. The price was a bit on the expensive side but well worth it.

We tried this restaurant during restaurant week. I was completely blown away but the food, service, and value. The mixing of foods in a single dish was unusual but amazingly delicious. The dishes and drinks were beautifully garnished and the portions were generous. My experience in Old Town dining since the pandemic has been disappointing as most restaurants are overpriced with average food. This restaurant is just the opposite and absolutely fabulous. One of my best restaurant experiences in years. This is my new special occasion restaurant!

This is one of my favorite lunch places to dine in Old Town Alexandria. The bento box is very satisfying and worth every penny. The restaurant is moving to a new location (Pentagon City), in the next month or so. Catch them at this location while you can.

This place should get a Michelin star. Especially in the DMV, 90% of places at this price point have really mediocre, forgettable food. This place punches you in the face with umami deliciousness. The only note was that the noodles in my noodle dish were a bit overcooked. But taste was off the hook in all four dishes we had. Service was outstanding. Ambiance is lovely and relaxing.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. I knew it would be good based on her recommendation, but I had no idea how good it would be. We were delighted by each dish we had. I would highly recommend this place.
