Located at Yosemite Valley Lodge, the Mountain Room Restaurant boasts striking views of the 2,424 foot high Yosemite Falls. The menu is equally impressive, featuring sizzling steaks and fresh seafood. The chef’s specialties include local, organic & seasonal preparations including sustainable fish and seafood in accordance with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch List. The Mountain Room Restaurant is open year-round.

Service was excellent. They remembered it was our anniversary and seated us at our requested table in view of Yosemite Falls.

Overall a solid restaurant choice in Yosemite Valley. Highly recommend making reservations for dinner. We saw a number of people being turned away without reservations while we were waiting to be seated. My husband and I shared the soup of the day which was a cream of broccoli. It had a nice flavor, not to thick or heavy. For dinner, my husband had the trout which was nicely cooked. It was served with a sweet potato mash and a cranberry glaze that really came together. I ordered the prime sirloin that came with some kind of potato and that too was delicious. The only thing was that I had ordered my steak to be cooked medium. I thought it was a little more pink then it should be and then I saw the little stick they put into the steak and it read medium rare but I had started eating it and didn't want to send it back. I think the server just grabbed the wrong one because on the bill it read medium. The overall service was good. A little on the slow side, but it seemed a little busy for the number of people they had working.

We were seated quickly and our server Darren was attentive without being overly present. We never had to ask for refills and the food was amazing. The restaurant is spotless and the ambiance stellar. I would recommend the Mountain Room to anyone visiting Yosemite.

Awesome staff and delicious food. Filet and sirloin were delicious and staff was very friendly , attendant, and efficient.

The Brussel sprout appetizer was wonderful… slightly sweet and perfectly grilled. The trout and salmon entrees my wife and I had were flavorful. Service was friendly, attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Alberto was a fantastic server. His recommendations were outstanding and his manor was professional yet kind. We even got a great dessert recommendation from the assistant server.

We had the ribeye steak. It was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were like scalloped potatoes, but had a fancy name. Came with an excellent sauce and sweet roasted carrots. The cream of broccoli soup was excellent. Watch out for the onion soup if you don’t like much salt.
