Located at Yosemite Valley Lodge, the Mountain Room Restaurant boasts striking views of the 2,424 foot high Yosemite Falls. The menu is equally impressive, featuring sizzling steaks and fresh seafood. The chef’s specialties include local, organic & seasonal preparations including sustainable fish and seafood in accordance with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch List. The Mountain Room Restaurant is open year-round.

Great steak and French onion soup and ice cream sundae. Great service, takes reservations, beautiful views of Yosemite valley out the windows.

Just expensive. It was good but not worth $100 per person. If you’re going to stay in Yosemite Valley it may be wise to plan your own meals.

Our waiter, Jose was one of the worst I have ever had. We sat there for a full 15 minutes waiting for him. Finally a water person (Alex) came over and we ask her WHEN WOULD HE APPEAR. ABOUT 5 MIN later Lucas the manager finally come over with some Champane as it was our 50th anniversary and said Jose will be right there to help us. 10 minutes later he finally came and was not very friendly took our order never asked if we wanted another drink and disappeared again. Finaly our dinner arrived and once again he disappeared. Never saw him again until he brought us the bill. Never checked on us to see if the food was alright or if we wanted another drink. We have been going to the Mountain room for over 20 years and by far the Jose was the worst waiter we have ever had.

A very nice dinner. The restaurant does not shoot for Michelin Stars, but the ambiance of the room, with its clean wood and high ceilings and large windows is relaxing and impressive. The service is very good, attentive, friendly and better than it needs to be in what is almost a monopoly of sit down restaurants in Yosemite. We love this place.

My recent meal here was Nov 2024 and I last ate here in Sep 2023. The quality of the meal this time was terribly mediocre. We remember in 2023 the French onion soup was delicious with lots of baked melted cheese. I can't even begin to say how average it was this time. The kale salad was nothing exciting. The salmon was at least enjoyable but at $35 they really know that you have limited choices in Yosemite. I was so disappointed that I canceled my reservation for the following night.

Service was amazing and between the waitress and the cook they took care of my many dietary allergies !! I had the best Filet Mignon I’ve ever had !! Beef has to be really tender and I could cut it with a butter knife and the flavor was delicious. Looking forward to going back tonight! By far the best place to eat in Yosemite Valley !!

Our server was amazing! The food incredible! We had a great table with the view through the big glass windows. Our last meal in Yosemite is always here, but tonight was THE best.
