Located at Yosemite Valley Lodge, the Mountain Room Restaurant boasts striking views of the 2,424 foot high Yosemite Falls. The menu is equally impressive, featuring sizzling steaks and fresh seafood. The chef’s specialties include local, organic & seasonal preparations including sustainable fish and seafood in accordance with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch List. The Mountain Room Restaurant is open year-round.

The appetizer bar came with our entrees. The appetizer bar was not clean and lacked proper utensils to pick up food such as crackers and cheese. One entree we got was the chicken and one was the filet mingon. Both were very small portions and came with a small portion of mashed potatoes. They were priced at around $90 per meal. Needless to say, did not fill us up and ended up eating more cheese and crackers. We had even ordered bread as a separate appetizer and the waiter forgot we ordered it so it never came out. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back to this restaurant during our yearly Yosemite trips.

Best meal to be had at the park. This and Starbucks for breakfast.

If falls into not a lot of places to get a good steak in Yosemite. So if you’re looking for a good steak in the park this is the place. Wish they had better desserts.

Poor menu selections, especially for those that do not eat meat…..no pasta? The Trout tasted and smelled fishy/past its use date…. My beet/squash salad was overpowered by the balsamic dressing….sad to say we will not return to dine here. Excellent Staff and setting but the Menu choices need to be updated!

Fantastic, beautiful modern dining room. Large portions. French onion soup was delicious and not too salty. Cocktails were strong

Views of The Falls were a wonderful addition to our delicious meal. Perfectly cooked salmon :) Try the Old Fashioned if you enjoy bourbon, you won't be disappointed, cheers!

We ate in this beautiful room two nights in a row. There are some things that could be better--even if you're on time and there's plenty of open table the receptionists insist that you sit and wait, for example--but on the whole very good experience. My husband liked the onion soup and steak; I liked the cauliflower soup, but some of my mussels were a little gritty and many weren't opened, which should not be served. Waiters were pleasant.
