Excellent service and food. Perfect timing on all courses, by all staff involved. Great suggestions on wine pairing as well as not to be missed dishes. The gnocchi- perfect! Had the feature fish too, excellent as well. Shared all dishes. Not to be missed restaurant while in Nashville.

We enjoyed our meal tremendously. Previous fans of Spiaggia in Chicago, we were pleased to see that chef Tony Mantuano had opened Yola in Nashville. We started other excellent, creative cocktails. The focaccia with whipped ricotta was some of the best bread we’d ever eaten, and the hamachi crudo with tomato puree was delicious. Highlight was the terrific veal Milanese, an enormous, perfectly seasoned and prepared chop. Space was lovely, if a bit loud. Highly recommended.

Delicious meal! Excellent, attentive service from Jake who knows the menu and described the notable dishes with mastery. Chose to eat at a small table at the perimeter of the bar as they were not ready for us at our reservation time and neither host appeared to have any clear idea how long we’d have to wait for dining room seating. (Hence 4 stars instead of 5. That’s just infuriating to me, but it happens.) The house gnocchi with shaved black truffle was a decadent highlight. $55 for a pasta dish is a little nuts but they did not skimp on the truffle, shaved table side over our plate by the chef. So rich and unique. Dessert was also lovely… a pear upside down cake with honey gelato (I think!) artfully plated and gently sweet, allowing light flavors to shine through. We’d come back again for sure. We weren’t drinking this night and the cocktail menu was impressive. Nice wine selection, too. The restaurant is a pretty space that would lend itself to getting very dressed up if you were in the mood, however smart casual attire was suitable as well.

Yolan surprised me in a number of ways, but also has some areas of opportunities given the price point. I sat at the bar, which changes one’s experience. It was likely louder than the main dining room and a couple times the bar staff didn’t know details about the menu which I assume the servers in the dining room would have known - though to be fair, everyone should know details about the menu if they are serving the menu. The good: lovely bartender, and lovely drink menu which paired well with the food. Delicious lamb, which is a novel take on a lamb preparation. Very good focaccia bread and accompaniments (I ate the ‘nduja) which is very tasty. I also enjoyed chatting with the other diners at dinner, though can’t directly say that’s due to restaurant strategy, though maybe. The bad: service was ok, given the price. The dipping sauce for the bread came a few minutes before the bread which confused me at first, the Cacio e Pepe was…ok. And I had to repeat my drink order at the end of the meal. Would I come back? Probably but I wouldn’t rush back, except maybe for a drink to say hello to the bartender.

We celebrated our 18th anniversary at Yolan and it far exceeded our expectations. It was perfection from start to finish. We appreciate the fact that they locally source many ingredients and bring in other high quality flours and oils direct from Italy. You can taste the difference in the food. Our meal was fresh, innovative and delicious. The service was impeccable with an unparalleled attention to detail. We look forward to celebrating many more special occasions at Yolan in the future!
