Yasu is Canada's first Omakase sushi bar. We celebrates the ocean’s best catches and the craft of sushi in its award-winning Toronto eatery; dishes created by Executive Chef and Owner Yasu Ouchi from Osaka, Japan. There is only one menu at Yasu; Omakase style (chef's choice set course) at $185 per person, a Japanese tradition wherein Chef Yasu creates a new menu daily based on the freshest and seasonal seafood available from around the world. The Omakase course consists of approximately 20 items including a kaiseki plate, soup,
​selection of seasonal nigiri and dessert. . ​​​An 18% service fee will be added to each bill. Any further tipping or gratuity is not expected. We look forward to hosting you!​

    I would have given their service 5* like last time, but I had to take one star away because they forgot about my special request to celebrate my wife's Birthday. He was VERY apologetic when the matredee realized he had forgotten to prepare the Birthday Special. I gave the "Value" a 5* not because it was "cheap," because it was not, but because they made sure you get high-quality ingredients for what you pay for.

    We sat in the corner on the chef’s bar and while we were greeted warmly, the servers forgot to provide a menu and overview of what to expect from the very beginning. Some of the pieces were not fresh, especially the uni where the fishiness was especially prominent, and was not the quality you would expect at this price point. I have been to yasu before and this overall experience and meal was a let down. Would recommend other omakase restaurants in Toronto before trying here.

    The experience was very good. The fish and seafood was prepared very well with a very high attention to detail. I really enjoyed the wasabi to rice and seafood ratio, and the chef will ask throughout the dining experience to ensure the ratio for the nigiri is just right for you. The Cho-toro was my favorite course and the seared scallop appetizer and caviar uni nigiri was excellent as well. The chefs do not converse too much while preparing the meal because they are fully focused on the food but will converse after, and the host will converse with you as well.

    Lovely service and sushi was impeccable however now sure if it's worth the money. Understandable at the same time since the fish is being flown in from Japan.

    Yasu offers a premium omakase experience with quality ingredients, professional service, and elegant ambiance. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any who enjoy sushi, and are looking to elevate that enjoyment.
