Yashin Ocean House was founded by some of London's leading experts in Japanese cuisine. Hosting an elegant dining hall with Edwardian architecture, the ambience is perfect for dates with friends, family or couples as well as solo visits. Our menu is centred on satisfying Japanese tapas and our signature Omakase sushi, also offering some of the finest delicacies in the world such as our exclusive Hida wagyu. Enjoy your meal with a glass of sake, as we offer one of the widest ranges in London, and can suggest the perfect sake to enhance and complement your dish.

Our sushi concept is “without soy sauce – but if you want to”. Of course, we can serve as much soy sauce as the diner desires; however, what we want to emphasise is the taste of the fish. Therefore, each piece of sushi that we serve is brushed with the right amount of soy sauce and topped with an accompaniment that harmonises with the flavour of the fish.

    This restaurant is proof that Japanese and Portuguese cuisines go great together. The food was incredibly delicious and creative. Eating sushi at the counter was an authentic experience. I recommend the tasting menu so you can have a bit of everything.

    I have eaten here on and off for a few years now and I sometimes forget why I am not a regular. By writing this review I hope this reminds me and helps others decide on going or returning here. The restaurant is missing something: the decor is cool but the large flank wall on the LHS as you walk in is plain and makes the hall cold. The open kitchen is honest yet some of the waiters are too shy to tell you what’s on your plate. Throw your food down and run off while others tell you which each dish is. The food is just above average and presented well, yet the radio music seems so off and kills any vibe. Overall not worth £230 for two people- such a shame because the place has huge potential.

    We had the taster menu which was absolutely amazing. The staff were all very helpful, so welcoming and friendly.

    It's my favourite Japanese restaurant in London. Overall, it was really good. The food was fresh and delicious. Also, waitresses have a good service mind and are friendly. I'll give 10 of 10.

    Another great experience at Yashin Ocean House. We are spoilt to have a quality sushi restaurant in our neighbourhood that maintains high standards, yet manages to feel friendly and local. As a regular, I have my favourites I return to but I would love to see more new dishes as well. There were some specials available but they were mainly tuna/urchin/eel as I recall. I would love to see new vegetarian dishes, salads and carpaccio. Looking forward to my next visit!

    The team made my daughter’s birthday a special occasion to remember. They looked after us very well. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. It was a delightful experience.

    Overall, the food and the ambience were great. The staff were friendly and polite. We didn’t have to wait too long to be seated, or for the food. I was just a little disappointed that we were seated at the bar table despite making a reservation. I also felt that it was a tad bit more expensive than I had anticipated.
