YAO pays culinary homage to the vibrant Yaowarat neighborhood in Bangkok, an ancient Thai-Chinese community.

As you can imagine, the neighborhood is a paradise for food lovers because this cultural blending has created some of the most delicious eats on Earth. Spicy, crunchy, tangy and delectable dishes are handed down over many generations.

We created this restaurant to have the look, feel and tastes of Yaowarat, and we cant wait to share our food with you! Once more, we welcome you and yours to YAO.

Food was great. Service was not good. They only had one waitress on the whole side of the restaurant. Food took pretty long, we ordered the dessert but cancelled it because it was taking too long.

Yao’s restaurant concept was cool and worth visiting once. There was live music and drinks were pretty good. Food was hit or miss and service was OK at best for requiring 18% at all tables (parties of 1 or more). Had to ask for things multiple times by multiple people. Never was checked on even though we sit in a secluded area with 2 servers assigned to the room. One of our appetizers was forgotten and came out cold. Overall, it’s worth checking out for the live music and drinks but wouldn’t recommend going for food or service.

A great experience overall! My guests really enjoyed the design aesthetics and the food was delicious. The parking, restaurant location was easy to get to for us, and the outside sign is not illuminated well, which may be difficult to see when looking for the restaurant. I had the crab wontons, delicious crab, fried rice, and Thai wings were great also.

Highly recommend Yao for beautiful environment and delicious food. They also offer a lunch special that is a great value! Will be back soon.

Came for my birthday on 1/18 and enjoyed my overall experience. I called the restaurant at about 4pm to try and push my reservation back to 7pm or 8pm and was told they were too full between those times (reservation was at 6:15) we were there from 6:15 to about 7:45 and the restaurant was VERY empty. There were only 3 other tables of 2-4 people. So that was a bit disappointing because part of my decision to come for my birthday was for the massages but they didn’t start until 8 (and the start time isn’t advertised on the website) but other than that, it was a nice restaurant and I enjoyed my food and drink.
