Yann Couvreur, the world-renowned French Pastry Chef, has now opened his first daytime café in Wynwood. The menu showcases the finest seasonal and local ingredients without any added artificial flavors or preservatives. You can experience dishes such as the iconic “Tartine Saumon” featuring Appalachian Smoked Salmon, lemon cream cheese, and microgreens placed atop toasted multigrain sourdough; the “Tuna Melt” made with toasted brioche, cheddar cheese, and Yann Couvreur Café’s housemade tuna mix; baked goods such as the “Baguette et Beurre” and the caramelized “French Toast”; and the table-side Niçoise salad experience. From early breakfast to brunch, lunch, and afternoon tea, this café restaurant is your go-to destination for a nice break à la Française. They automatically charge 20% gratuity on the bill and when I paid with credit card, they enter the total on their credit card machine then asked me how much tip do I want to add. Without seeing the invoice in full, I added another 20%. What a rip off. The food was decent and the coffee was terrible, basically filled up the cup with water.

The waiter wasn’t the greatest but owner or Manager stepped up to the plate And removed service charge and gave us a dessert to go.

This morning, we visited Yan Couvreur Café in Downtown Miami for breakfast. We made a reservation in advance as we were two families of four. The place is beautifully decorated with a great ambiance, and the bakery counter is spectacular — croissants, pain au chocolat, and tarts looked exquisite. However, our overall experience fell far short of expectations. When we arrived, our table was ready, but we waited 15 minutes to be served, which was surprising since the restaurant wasn’t busy. The waiter eventually took our order: 4 main dishes, 4 coffees, and 3 tarts. From there, things started to go downhill. The dishes took a long time to arrive, and oddly enough, they started coming out before the coffees. When the coffees finally arrived, they were cold, and we had to send them back. The fries were also cold and hard, so those were sent back as well. My omelette arrived first, but the salad that was supposed to accompany it didn’t arrive until I was nearly finished eating. The waiter seemed inexperienced and disorganized, which added to the frustration. Despite only drinking water, our bill totaled $250, including a mandatory 20% tip. This raises a valid question: how much longer will it be acceptable for restaurants to impose a 20% gratuity on customers when the service is clearly subpar? In summary, Yan Couvreur Café offers a charming atmosphere and visually appealing products, but our experience was overshadow

The experience was perfect ! The food is delicious. It was appreciated to eat food that actually tastes good in Miami. Derek, the manager, and Enzo, our waiter, made the experience even better. We will go back for sure !
