- About Izakaya Japas & Sake -

The laidback ambience of Izakaya Japas & Sake combines the merriment of a pub with Japas (tapas-style small plates) and freshly handmade sushi. The vibrant Victorian-style building is located at the heart of George’s Street. It offers a cultural escape through authentic oriental wall décor, an extensive choice of sake, Japanese liquor and banging cocktails. Seasonal and all-time delicious favourites, such as tempuras, duck pancakes, and Omakase, are bursting with flavours and leave your mouth watering for more. Funky tunes during evenings, a fun atmosphere and charismatic staff will make your visit memorable.

You can substitute any dish with a supplement for an additional charge. Our menu is Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten-Free friendly. Please review our Set Menu in the Menu section before booking *A discretionary 12.5% service charge is included in tables of 3 or more. All gratuities are shared among the Izakaya team.

Deep- fried spring rolls filled with shiitake & shimeji mushrooms, wrapped in a crispy pastry and topped with melting mozarella cheese & aonori mayo.
Ama Age Tofu
Cubes of tofu lightly fried & served on teriyaki sauce. Topped with cashew nuts & shichimi.

I left this restaurant hungry. Dishes are tapas sized and overpriced. If you want a proper dinner go to the South City restaurant . We ordered sushi as a starter and it came at the end of the meal. Food quality is average when the price point is high. The only decent part of the meal was dessert even though it was €8.50 for a brownie & ice cream.

The place was empty with other diners were present but the staff presented me the bill without me requesting it and then brought the machine over to pay. I didn’t give them any indication I wanted to leave and felt they were pushing me and my wife out. It was strange Food was good

At our establishment, we only present the bill upon request or when it seems the the dining experience has concluded. Phenomenal outing with a large group. We were at a lovely high table by the window, great ambiance and service. Food was incredibly delicious - I am still drooling over their okonomiyaki! Fun tapas style, nicely sized portions that can be eaten solo or shared. Highly recommend for work or pleasure!
