Made reservations for our anniversary… there was a sign at the door saying they had a fire accident. No one called to let us know. No one was there although the fire happened just an hour before. Couldn’t make other reservations… ruined our anniversary dinner. Bad service.

Dinner on Labor Day weekend here was a real disappointment; the bland meal, small dishes and overall experience was mediocre (late seating, long wait for entree, etc.) Diners were unhappy and clearly, Michelin’s recommendation from 2021 is no longer accurate for this mediocre restaurant. While it may have been special at some point, it was underwhelming for myriad of reasons. We left hungry, and would never go back.

The meal was excellent in all aspects. The appetizer, Lebanese Hummus is very good and a great start to the meal. My wife's chicken was perfectly done as was my filet. The only negative was the appearance of short staffing. Fortunately, it's a small dining room and the server was able to handle the diners without too much delay. This is the second time we celebrated our anniversary at Yafa and we plan to return again next year.

We had the babaganoush, grilled artichoke, mishmish chicken, and butternut squash ravioli. Babaganoush: Alright, nothing special. The eggplants needed to be grilled and smoked for longer. It was let down by the pita bread. Instead of using fresh, fluffy pita bread which is common in the Middle East, they used flat pita (possibly store bought, it didn’t taste fresh) which was dry, thin, and had a cardboard taste. Artichoke: Again, nothing special. Far too much balsamic vinegar poured on top and the smoked paprika aioli was too heavy and dense, it didn’t complement the artichoke, but perhaps others would like it. The artichoke was ok, well seasoned by itself, but the balsamic glaze made it messy and overpowered the seasoning and flavor of the artichoke. Most steak houses serve a nicer grilled artichoke so this was a disappointment in comparison. Mishmish Chicken: Nicely cooked, but the apricot sauce was very sweet, and the chicken itself was just a plain breast. It would have been much nicer if it was a bone in thigh with crispy skin. Ravioli was good, but nothing special. Service was great. Our waiter was attentive and the staff overall were very friendly.

Exceptional, imaginative cuisine! I had the Moroccan Mish Mish Chicken, with apricot and almonds. Chicken was like butter. Unusual but delicious!!
