This was our first visit to Xenia Greek Kouzina and we had a good time. My expectations were unmet but I may have had unrealistic expectations. The restaurant is beautiful. The furniture is sleek and very comfortable. Nice ambiance with dim lighting, a sea blue tinge, light background music. Busy, energetic dining room. Service was impeccable. Gerry took great care of us the whole time, while others on the service team kept water glasses full, the table clean, etc. Professional operation. The dinner menu is vast and it covers all the bases. The food was beautifully presented. So far, high marks. The hole here is in the kitchen’s cooking, specially the flavor of the dishes we had. Looks great but lacks punch. Too light on the seasoning. Not just salt but other Mediterranean spices one expects. Xenia’s kitchen just needs to be more assertive. We started with grilled octopus, in my experience the litmus test for a Greek restaurant. Here, the octopus was missing char and oregano. Next, zucchini chips with tzatziki dipping sauce. Awesome idea! The chips were not heavily breaded (good), but a bit too mild in flavor. For entrées, my wife and I had the shrimp Santorini linguini. Very nice presentation. Very generous portion! Shrimp and pasta done well. However, the dish lacked pizzazz. We added crushed red pepper flakes to jazz it up. Still underwhelming. My mom had the lamb chops, which she enjoyed. When we informed Gerry that we were celebrating Mom’s birthday, he brought us (gratis) a bowl of mini-doughnuts dressed with honey and powdered sugar. Nice touch. Martinis and wine were perfect. Xenia has a lot of potential—clearly, it’s rated highly by the dining community—but for us we’d like a more assertive cooking approach. At this point, on the fence regarding a recommendation. Thanks for a nice evening though.

We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary. Since it was a Sunday, it was relatively quiet. The staff was attentive, and the food was excellent. We will be back.

Our server was marginal. We specifically had to ask about the dinner specials, never offered more pita and oil, ask for water. although the reservation was made and specified the special occasion (birthday), it was never acknowledged

The service and staff were great! Wine was delicious, but the food was lacking. I ordered the surf and turf and the crab cake had no flavor. My daughter ordered the rockfish special and that had no flavor.

This is an excellent high-end Greek restaurant. I ordered the 4 Greek spreads, and each was too salty. Then the pasticcio, which was even saltier. The prices are high, but if you like very salty food, this is a great place.

One of our favorite spots in the Columbia area. We always start with the grilled octopus. Tonight we tried the vodka sauce pasta and requested to add a few shrimp. It was tasty. The other entree was the salmon, which unfortunately arrived undercooked. Our server quickly resolved the issue. Overall, another good experience.
