WU Chow brings authentic, farm-fresh, modern Chinese food to Austin by offering dishes representative of all eight styles of Chinese cuisine. Led by Executive Chef Ji Peng Chen, the farm-to-wok menu will include Austin favorites such as Crispy Sesame Beef, Honey Pecan Prawns, Dry Fried Local Green Beans and a wide variety of Handmade Steamed and Fried Dumplings. Full bar is available including guest favorite cocktails such as the Texan’s Take On Tiki, Nole Gingko, Green Dragon; with a selection of beer, wine & zero-proof cocktails. Wu Chow 38th also offers a private dining room that accommodates up to 40 people, complete with full audiovisual capability and its own private entrance

The Austin Restaurant Week lunch menu was great. Large portions for a good price. My server offered a vegetarian option and alternative first course soup option that were not listed on the menu - I’m glad they did because the chicken egg drop soup was delicious. Very nice and attentive service.

Consistent, good quality food in a comfortable, nice atmosphere. Servers are knowledgable though maybe distracted; last two times we ate there they forgot to order one of our dishes. A little on the pricey side for what it is but glad it is in the neighborhood.

The restaurant was almost empty and they sat us in the corner next to the bus station. The service was not good.

I have been to wu chow twice before and both times were excellent. This time though I went with a group and it was just different. Previously the atmosphere was lively but it just didn't seem that way. We ordered mapo dofu (a dish we had before that was delicious and spicy), and it had zero spice. It just seems inconsistent. I hope we will come back and have an experience like we had the first two times.

It felt like the service and kitchen were at half strength. The food was good but we waited a long time for it to come out. Our waitress seemed to be waiting on the entire dining room. The restaurant was not itself and everything seemed lethargic.
