Tacoma’s newest waterfront restaurant, Woven Seafood & Chophouse, is a Roy Yamaguchi concept owned by The Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Woven celebrates a rich fusion of culinary traditions, honoring Yamaguchi’s Japanese heritage and pioneering Hawaii regional cuisine, along with the traditions of the Puyallup Tribe and the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

Excellent service and food. Unique preparation and top quality ingredients. Decent prices for the wine list. The menu is just the right size. Great selections in every category. What a gem. We are so lucky to have a fine dining experience like this from a James Beard award winning chef. Bravo!

Food was really very good, we had an excellent waiter (so sorry I can’t recall his name), and I really like the re-design of the interior of the restaurant. I personally don’t like the long tables for six where you get trapped in the back of the booth, but overall, it was a very positive visit, and I’d definitely return!

Woven proved to be an outstanding food experience and we will be keeping this restaurant on our "be-sure-to-return" list. Four of us shared the artichoke/crab dip (only enough for one or two people) and the seafood pillows (4 of these), both appetizers that were very good. My wife and I ordered the burrata caprese as a second course, which proved to be more than enough for two, so we shared that with our dinner partners and had plenty for all - an excellent dish that had grilled peaches included with the tomatoes, etc. - a delicious surprise. Main course orders were all excellent: Because I was filling up, I had the crispy fried crab Futomaki, which was more than enough for a main course - and excellent. (Looking around, other diners had rolls, all of which were quite large.) My wife had the browned butter shrimp (excellent but could do without the whole garlic cloves in the dish). Our friends had Woven's paella and the grilled salmon. The latter dish is grilled over a wood fire, which lent a smoky taste to the salmon. Both were outstanding items and very substantial, as were all our main courses. Dessert is prepared to order, thus bringing about a 20-minute wait, and well worth it. We all shared the apple cobbler with mascarpone topping among us - a nice treat. The only drawback we noted was the assistant servers failed at times to understand that when we said we were sharing some dishes among us, extra small plates were not brought to the table (twice) and no extra utensils even after the small plates were brought to the table (twice). The assistant servers at least should have asked us if these serving pieces were needed. To reiterate: outstanding food and we will be returning.

The food was ok, it felt like my wife and I were eating at a starbucks in a Target Store. We sat on $20 chairs in an area that was blocked off by cheap plastic floor to ceiling plastic dividers. Possibly the worst ambiance in a restaurant that charges more than $15 for a meal that we've been to. The server was very nice, the food had good flavor. The cheap plastic feel of the restaurant guaranteed we won't be back and that we won't be recommending it to anyone. They should have kept the restaurant like the previous decor, at least that felt like a higher end place.

Overall good flavors, but even for a petite person like myself I felt that portion sizes were small and wish the lighting was dimmer. The ambiance didn’t match the food for me. The service however was wonderful!

Nice addition to the Tacoma waterfront. Happy hour food has some good choices.

Woven is a great place for a celebration. We had the lumpia and baby back ribs for appetizers, black cod and paella for entrees, and apple cobbler for dessert. We enjoyed all of our dishes. Our server was excellent. We didn't fell rushed so it gave us time to savor the great food.

Excellent food. The lunch menu was very limited. We did preview the dinner menu and it offered more choices.
