Tacoma’s newest waterfront restaurant, Woven Seafood & Chophouse, is a Roy Yamaguchi concept owned by The Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Woven celebrates a rich fusion of culinary traditions, honoring Yamaguchi’s Japanese heritage and pioneering Hawaii regional cuisine, along with the traditions of the Puyallup Tribe and the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

First time for my wife and I at Woven for dinner tonight. We have been to Roy’s in Waikiki many times over the years and never had a bad meal so we were excited to try Woven. I saw many bad reviews about the service, but we had excellent service from the time we walked in until we left. Theambience was not great, although somewhat made up for by the big windows. The lights are up so bright that we felt like we were sitting in a cafeteria. The complementary edamame, and pork ribs were excellent. Brussel sprouts were way too sweet and way too soft. The black cod had a beautiful presentation, was cooked perfectly, and had great sides, but was completely ruined by a sauce that was overly sweet. The paella was most definitely not paella.Should be listed on the menu as risotto with seafood on top. Not sure we would ever come back here again, but if we did, might stick with items from the grill.

We had a 12:00 pm reservation and were seated promptly in a corner waterfront table with fantastic view. After our orders were taken for 2 sushi rolls and a seafood louie salad, we waited more than 80 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant for our orders to arrive. After notifying our server of our time constraint, our food arrived 90 minutes after ordering. Crazy…

We were a group of four and we all agreed: The food was exquisite! One of the best we have had. From appetizers to dessert, all was great! Our server, Patrick, was friendly, explained the menu well, and timed deliver of the various food and drink items in a timely but unrushed manner. All in all, a great evening.

This was our 2nd dining experience at Woven. Excellent food and service. Celebrated a birthday and picked the perfect spot!

My main dish was very good. The peas placed on the table were difficult to eat and did not add anything to the dining experience.

Rude from the moment we arrived. Despite reservation they wouldn’t seat us by a window because there were only two of us. Didn’t take my gluten allergy seriously and served me food with gluten. Corrected that but not until I had started to eat and noticed it wasn’t right. Won’t be going back.

Greeted immediately, Kathryn L. was our server and did a phenomenal job. Food was fabulous, oysters and hamachi, can’t wait to go back.

Excellent service and food. Unique preparation and top quality ingredients. Decent prices for the wine list. The menu is just the right size. Great selections in every category. What a gem. We are so lucky to have a fine dining experience like this from a James Beard award winning chef. Bravo!

Food was really very good, we had an excellent waiter (so sorry I can’t recall his name), and I really like the re-design of the interior of the restaurant. I personally don’t like the long tables for six where you get trapped in the back of the booth, but overall, it was a very positive visit, and I’d definitely return!
