Tacoma’s newest waterfront restaurant, Woven Seafood & Chophouse, is a Roy Yamaguchi concept owned by The Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Woven celebrates a rich fusion of culinary traditions, honoring Yamaguchi’s Japanese heritage and pioneering Hawaii regional cuisine, along with the traditions of the Puyallup Tribe and the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

The food was absolutely amazing! The training of the service staff was subpar. Wrong sauces with different orders, no steak knives provided to those with steaks without asking. Agreed to split salad (even suggested by waiter), then delivered as a single salad without an extra plate or any way to split. No offer for additional drinks when wine glasses and beer bottle empty. Everyone was very friendly, actually too friendly because all their talking caused them to forget and ignore our service. It’s a real shame that the amazing food was not the only thing that I remember about this meal. Management please do more training!

Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The option to choose proteins and sides separately make it easy to customize a meal for a less adventurous eater. If you, like I, have sworn off Mai Tais as being too sweet, take a chance on this one.

Food was not great at all. Missing a lot of flavor. Our server though was amazing and so knowledgeable. If we come back it’s because of the service.

Terribly disappointed. We expected a high-end, first class experience but felt we were in a cheap chop house. The service was slow, wine service was very unprofessional, dinner was cold and not cooked to our request, and the waitress was inexperienced. The noise level was unbelievable. And the food quality did not justify the total bill. Sorry.

The overall experience was hit and miss. The appetizers were good. The seafood pillows were good but the breadcrumb crust had so much garlic it overpowered the tastes of the filling. The service was very spotty. They were not paying attention to how the orders were being placed by the individuals. Guests at the table were ordering appetizers for themselves as entrees but they would be delivered out as appetizers for the table instead of at the same time as the meal. The server took their time coming back around. We consistently had to ask for water while other tables had a container. It was very warm in the restaurant. We were never asked if we wanted refills on our cocktails. The flavors of the entrees short ribs and pasta were good. The apple cobbler was good very large and HOT. Could use more cold cream for ratio. There definitely was some really good components but certainly inconsistent service. The restaurant certainly has potential, we love the way it was laid out and the view while it was dark, it would have a beautiful view of the sound.

Amazing fusion of Native and Asian food! Loved the Cornbread Tres Leches! Amber our waitress was great at explaining what everything was. Beautiful native decorating, and it was peaceful. I'm glad my husband and I went here for our date night!
