Tacoma’s newest waterfront restaurant, Woven Seafood & Chophouse, is a Roy Yamaguchi concept owned by The Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Woven celebrates a rich fusion of culinary traditions, honoring Yamaguchi’s Japanese heritage and pioneering Hawaii regional cuisine, along with the traditions of the Puyallup Tribe and the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

    Woven is a great place for a celebration. We had the lumpia and baby back ribs for appetizers, black cod and paella for entrees, and apple cobbler for dessert. We enjoyed all of our dishes. Our server was excellent. We didn't fell rushed so it gave us time to savor the great food.

    Excellent food. The lunch menu was very limited. We did preview the dinner menu and it offered more choices.

    This was our first visit after hearing great things about Woven from multiple people. It definitely lived up to the hype. The remodel of the former CI Shennanigans is outstanding and is worth a visit in and of itself. The restaurant was full and the noise was pretty noticeable but not overwhelming. The menu options were plentiful and provide lots of creative options. We had the Ahi sushi roll for an appetizer and it was fresh and delicious tasting. We had a mix of entrees but the Black Cod was the standout. Our server, Michael, was great. Overall excellent experience.

    Food was delicious. Only con would be the wine pours were quite small, especially at the price point.

    I have now eaten here twice. Pleasant environment, good service and fair prices for a restaurant of this caliber. However, both times the food has been meaningfully under seasoned and when one requests salt to try to rectify it you are given a little container of kosher salt instead of a proper finishing salt. This is really not acceptable for a restaurant of its aspirations. First, they should teach the line cooks how to properly season to begin with and secondly they should provide an appropriate salt for those who prefer a bit more. I hope whoever in management needs to see this does and takes some steps to rectify this problem.
