This was my first time at Wormwood, and it was a memorably poor meal. The evening started well enough, with some great absinthe followed by three fun starters from their Celebration tasting menu. I also had a fun absinthe cocktail I enjoyed. However, at that point everything started going south. The next course was a French onion tart, which contained a very salty cheese paired with a surprisingly salty onion demi-glace. There wasn't anything in the tart to balance the combination of the two salty elements taking over the dish. We ended up having to send that back, and it was followed by an inoffensive but lackluster burrata salad. Why a salad was the fifth course in a seven-course meal, I couldn't tell you, but my tongue could only taste salt at that point. Next, we got two different entrees between us, the steak and the black cod. The fish was cold and partially raw on the inside, and the steak was salty and paired with a sauce that was also salty, alongside a potato hashbrown which was delicious but of course also salted, making the entire plate an assault on the senses. We had to send both entrees back and they offered us a different entree off the menu. I went with the chicken remoulade, while my friend declined as the two failed dishes had already ruined their experience for the night. Sadly, when the chicken finally came out, it was served with a different demi-glace that was also far too salty. I don't know what their saucier was doing tonight, but after 3 dishes in the last 4 being overly salted, I couldn't get past it. We had to send that one back as well and just tried to move on to the dessert without getting to eat our entrees. This was a particularly uncomfortable experience for me, because as a Midwesterner I don't like to complain about food, much less send it back. I cannot remember a time in the last decade that I've sent any part of a meal back to the kitchen, and it happened multiple times in a row tonight.

Everything was excellent from the service, good and ambience. They have live entertainment on Sunday evenings.

Everything was amazing. They accommodated us coming in at an earlier time when we called despite our later reservation and no earlier times online. Our server/bartender in the “secret garden” was phenomenal, great drinks and made a his own special cocktail when we asked for a recommendation which was delicious (we reordered it!). They allowed us to do the tasting menu when initially they said we would not be able to, the food was incredible. Only criticism was that there was a long delay between being brought bread (first “course”) and then the second and third courses (~45-60 min?) to which the server was super apologetic, but the rest of the courses were more evenly paced. Our meal ended up taking a little longer than we would have liked (3+ hours) but the vibes and the service and the food left us feeling happy and content. No complaints and would gladly go back again!

The staff warmly greeted us and accommodated our seating needs. Cocktails were well crafted. Food was beautifully presented, and delicious. The garden setting is perfect. Will continue to return.
