WOOD Restaurants offers a unique style of dining. We will be bringing complexity using various culinary influences while retaining our classic seasonal flavour combinations giving our guests an elegant, contemporary dining experience with a strong balance of flavours, textures and temperatures.

The Menu at WOOD will be served by the entire Kitchen and Restaurant Team led by Chef Patron Simon.
All bookings cancelled on the day will be subject to the full menu charge per person.
Bookings cancelled within 48 hours before the date of the reservation will be subject to a £30 charge per person.

I hadn't heard of this restaurant before but we decided to give it a try and we were pleasantly surprised at what a warm welcome we received. the service was flawless - attentive enough without being overbearing. The tasting menu was delicious. We will definitely be back.

WOOD is located in an area of manchester full of life and bars with busy streets. Stepping foot into the restaurant relieved that busy feeling just on the other side of the window. We sat in the centre of the floor with a good view of the restaurant and pass. Was a pleasure to see Simon himself cooking up the dishes we ate. Service at the start seemed a little rushed but quickly calmed down. Wine was ordered, a small but decently priced list of wines. Food was great nicely present with good honest flavours. We had the veal sweetbreads along with the milk bread. Sweetbreads were cooked great with a crispy vegetable flake added for a great texture with some asian flavours. The Milk bread was soft and warm with good moisture, although butter it was served with was too cold to spread, the temperature of the butter did mute the flavours slightly which was a shame. For mains we had the lamb which was cooked great with a bubble and squeak sort of side which gave some great memories for Monday morning left overs and Sunday dinner. A good dish. We also had the beef, which was cooked great, also a great utilisation of parts of the Cow you wouldn’t usually eat a little deep fried tart with marrow and beef tongue. Amazing flavour and texture could almost be a dish in itself if it was a little bigger. Deserts was good little plays on classic deserts deconstructed Apple crumble was my personal favourite! Great place would visit again.

What an amazing restaurant. The food is unbelievable, add this to the very knowledgeable and curtious staff, my wife and I had a wonderful afternoon. Woods us definitely on our list of favourite restaurants and we will return

We visited WOOD on Friday evening and although it was not busy (which is quite sad to see, given the quality of the food) the atmosphere was beautifully relaxed and welcoming. The food is outstanding, a true taste sensation- if you go, prepare to be amazed. We indulged with the seasonal tasting menu (Autumn) and I have to say, the catch of the day was my stand out course, not what I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised at the bursts of flavour. I would definitely recommend visiting WOOD for a multitude of occasions, or just a nice treat for oneself - I will be returning and taking friends/family with me!

No real knowledge of the wine pairing. Wasn’t showed the bottles when it was poured. Tiny wine glasses because it was a tasting menu. Food was decent but a lot of the same stuff from over a year ago. Won’t be going again. Sorry.

Amazing food. Fabulous Flavours. A gastronomic delight. Wonderful evening with attentive staff. Good background ambience/ music which was not over intrusive so we could comfortably talk during the evening. We chose the tasting menu was excellent value.
