I eat at Wissota about once/month and the food and service are consistently good. On this visit I particularly enjoyed the Cesar salad, which I've had before, but that I think has been elevated by the addition of a nice sized parmesan crisp on top, some sliced cherry tomatoes, a few black olives, and white sardines. I asked my server if they've changed how they make it recently and he said no, so it's possible my memory is just bad. Regardless, it was delicious and also a good sized portion. It could easily make a light meal if paired with an appetizer. The jumbo prawns in garlic butter were also especially good. They are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked so as not be be dry or tough as sometimes happens at other restaurants. Another very pleasant meal.

I was there celebrating my Birthday with 12 people in the party . Scott was the perfect server and always enjoy him! He does a fabulous job! The food was amazing and timing with that many people was unbelievable. Great job to all! We can’t wait to come back

Unfortunate experience. This would have been our 4th visit and in the past it’s been a good experience. Unfortunately we sat at the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail and other than getting a menu put in front of us, we were ignored. The bartender was obviously behind and was having a problem making a cocktail and I accepted that and waited patiently. After 10 minutes he finished that cocktail and instead of taking our order he went to the next “slip” behind the bar. They were understaffed obviously but not even acknowledging us or apologizing for the delay was not acceptable for me. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we walked out and will not return.

I dine here regularly and the service is consistently good. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass and craft beers on tap. My caprese salad to start was very tasty and an ample portion. The drizzle of both pesto and balsamic tied it all together nicely. The seared scallops were on the small side and overly salted, but not terrible. I appreciate that sides can all be ordered as half portions and I enjoyed the grilled asparagus with hollandaise. It was another good meal and I’ll be back.

Found this place as a spur of a moment and want to find it was enjoy the filet mignon that was cooked to perfection the fried olives for an appetizer super yummy and then, of course, we wrapped it up with the raspberry tiramisu. The staff was awesome. The food was wonderful. The ambience was terrific and I would definitely recommend this place.

This is the second time we have been here. First time was fantastic. This time very disappointing, calamari was tasteless and steak was overcooked

I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was for a place here . The service was excellent. We did want to sit outside as it was a beautiful night , however the tables and chairs were full of webs and bugs.

I've happily become a regular at Wissota because the food and service are consistently good. My server Scott greeted me by name, remembered that I'm a red wine drinker, and recommended I try the seared ahi special they were running because he also knows I'm a pescatarian. It was a spot on suggestion. The tuna was lightly seared and picked up a pleasant hint of smokiness which played nicely with the white and black sesame seeds with which it was crusted. It was tender, accented nicely with a dip in the soy based sauce, and worked well with the cool and creamy sliced avocado garnish. I started my meal with some very good East Coast oysters which were plump, slightly sweet, and very fresh. The salad I had with mixed baby greens, sweet sliced strawberries, tart apple slices, mixed with goat cheese and spiced candied pecans rounded out the meal nicely. Another winner experience and I've already made my reservation for my next trip to Janesville.
