We sat outside and had a delicious dinner. The beet salad and scallops were especially outstanding. Our server was very attentive and made sure that we got out in time for our Steppenwolf show but we didn’t feel rushed. We will be back.

The food and service was fantastic. Close to Steppenwolf. Visiting from Canada. We’ll definitely return.

Loved it. Truffle pasta was amazing. The vibe in the cellar was calm. Much more quiet than upstairs. Would love to go back again. Affogato dessert was awesome.

We loved the food and found the service very good. The noise level in the restaurant was a bit too loud for us. We enjoyed the banquet seating because it allowed us to have some privacy and hear each other.

A great find for a local establishment near the theaters on Halsted. Food was exceptional and service top!

First, the service was really phenomenal. Our server was really prompt, very kind, and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything. She also made really good suggestions after asking what we like and don’t like. She was also very knowledgeable about the wine list, which was great. We booked patio seating, and while there is a small back patio, we were actually seated on the sidewalk section of the outdoor area. No huge problem, but it’s right next to the Divvy bike station, so there was a lot of noise from that, and also lots of noise from the intersection the restaurant sits on. It wasn’t exactly the “patio” ambiance we were expecting. The food was really good and the portions were great. My only criticism is that compared to lots of other places, the prices were a bit steep for what it was. And the bottle of wine was almost 3x what it retails for at a wine shop, which is too much. We would have been better off to bring our own bottle and pay a corkage fee.

Enjoyed dinner here before going to Steppenwolf Theater. When we arrived, I told Reese, our affable server that we were going to the theater. Our dinner and drinks were served promptly without our feeling rushed. We will return to Willow Room.

Willow Room is becoming opne of our favorites. My wife had shoirt ribs and I had scallops with risotto. The short ribs were good - a little too much fat given the portion size. The scallops and risotto were excellent. We shared a slice of key lime pie for dessert. This was authentic - and very good - key lime pie - yellow and not the green ones that many plac serve. The waitstaff was attentive, knolwledgeable and very friendly, I would say that the bus staff was a bit too eager and asked several times to take our dishes when we were satill eating. Overall, we had a great pre-theater dinner.
