William’s is a multi-award-winning seafood restaurant, fishmonger, delicatessen and caterer in the heart of Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

A veritable Cotswolds institution for over forty-five years, William’s has recently benefitted from a full-scale refurbishment of both the restaurant and shop area in January 2020.

Alongside a 64-cover new restaurant sits a new fish counter displaying an outstanding range of fresh seafood, delivered daily from Scotland and the South West coastline. The adjacent delicatessen offers a large selection of chef-prepared meals, cheeses, charcuterie and terrines as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

We are proud to have been voted one of Matthew Fort’s ‘Five Favourite Places to Shop’ and one of Rick Stein’s ‘Food Heroes’.

We love Williams. The food is always good and it has a lovely relaxed ambiance. There were plenty of staff and service was very good. Sometimes the service here is a little bit pushy and a bit too prompt so it’s important to make it clear if you want a bit of a pause. I had giant prawns and my wife had tuna, both of which were very slightly over cooked. They were both delicious but we made a mental note to mention it next time. Overall it’s a wonderful place to eat and one of our favourites.

Service was very mixed unfortunately. The starter of garlic prawns was delicious but power went off shortly after we were served and that was the end of hot food for several hours! We were offered a cold main course (oysters, gravadlax, charcuterie) but had really wanted the roasted halibut so left. Hopefully we will have better luck next time!

The food was excellent as always; well prepared, seasoned and fresh. Only a couple of things which I felt went unnoticed by staff: I had written on the reservation when asked about any occasion that it was my mums birthday, but unfortunately this went completely unnoticed. No mention of it which I felt was a shame. As well as small mistakes from staff, including not asking for drink refills and not going the extra mile to serve us which I would expect from such a place.

Fantastic staff and great food what is not to like? Oh and did I mention a great garden which is dog friendly too.. this is quite a home from home for us!

Wonderful decor, friendly staff and superb food. We arrived just as the restaurant opened and were take straight to our table. The tuna was cooked to perfection, as were the mussels. For dessert the pear and ginger cake with ice cream was delicious as was the chocolate mousse! We will definitely return!

Williams has been our goto place alongside Wilder in Nailsworth and Settebello in Gloucester since we moved to Glos. Williams has such a fantastic range of flavours and quality food alongside good table service and an excellent shop during the daytime. They alwasy take care of us and remember the little things. There's nowhere else i'd go for seafgood around here!
