William’s is a multi-award-winning seafood restaurant, fishmonger, delicatessen and caterer in the heart of Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

A veritable Cotswolds institution for over forty-five years, William’s has recently benefitted from a full-scale refurbishment of both the restaurant and shop area in January 2020.

Alongside a 64-cover new restaurant sits a new fish counter displaying an outstanding range of fresh seafood, delivered daily from Scotland and the South West coastline. The adjacent delicatessen offers a large selection of chef-prepared meals, cheeses, charcuterie and terrines as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

We are proud to have been voted one of Matthew Fort’s ‘Five Favourite Places to Shop’ and one of Rick Stein’s ‘Food Heroes’.

                                                                      I had heard that this restaurant was very good. The food in reality did not measure up to the menu. The Turbot was not cut in the usual way. The Romaesco cauliflower on the menu was replaced without explanation by tender stem broccolo. My guest had asked for the Wild Bass and for the sauce to be served separately. This involved lengthy conversation and the waiter went off to speak to the chef. When it came, the sauce had been put over the dish. We could not see why it should have been a problem to serve it separately. I had Monkfish scampi which was OK. I won‘t be in a hurry to rebook. The noise level was very high. Suggest some furnishing to dampen the noise.

                                                                      William's always deliver. Smiley, professional, lovely front of house and absolutely delicious and fresh food. Our tuna steak was cooked to perfection, served with a summery cold salad and the chocolate creme was divine. We had a lovely table in the garden and watched Nailsworth go by. If you love fish and seafood, William's is a must!

                                                                      Beautifully prepared fresh fish which flakes to the touch. No overcooking here. Great vegetables too and approachable smiley staff who really do welcome you and look after you - which is unusual these days!!

                                                                      Another great meal at Williams, the halibut and rolled lemon sole main courses were both excellent and I even got a free slice of chocolate tart with a candle to celebrate my birthday.

                                                                      We loved the food and friendly service. We sat outyat a lovely shady table but it WAS noisy as the traffic never stops. This didn't prevent us from enjoying our lunch.

                                                                      Very welcoming & spaced customers well. Great ambiance & very good friendly & knowledgeable staff. Halibut was perfectly cooked & wild & Oysters from the tip of Scotland, sweet & delicious. Fish & crab soups were phenomenal. We loved the shop at front & seeing all the fresh seafood. This is our 3rd visit & looking forward to the next.
