Some people may find it pricey for Lynchburg but it’s well worth it for excellent food!

It was our 5th anniversary and we were so excited about eating at W&H. The presentation was beautiful however the food was very bland. My salmon had no seasoning at all. My husband’s steak wasn’t seasoned either. Don’t think we will return for the amount we paid.

Our experience was outstanding in all areas, and we have eaten in many places. Our server was particularly helpful and was especially good about delivering different parts of the meal in a timely manner, allowing us to enjoy our drink, appetizer, main course without being rushed. The overall service and atmosphere were outstanding.

My meal was inedible. I ordered the chef’s special of filet mignon with foi gras, and a lobster tail. Lobster was overdone and chewy. I had 2 bites. The foi gras was ice cold, the filet was cold as well. I barley ate it. The server did not question why, what ended up being nearly a $200 meal, wasn’t eaten. It’s not my job to ask how my meal was. When I mentioned to the server my concerns, after paying, she said to let them know next time. Unfortunately there was another food issue at the table, so I was uncomfortable doing this. It also was patently obvious. If I had actually been asked how my meal was (which when 90% hasn’t been eaten it should be obvious how it was) I gladly would have shared my concerns.

We used to take my 83 year old mother in law to William & Henry for special occasions because it was her favorite restaurant in Lynchburg. She was nearly blind and needed special assistance due to being wheelchair bound. She loved a well made cocktail, nice bottle of wine and their crab cake. Jamie Bryant and staff brainstormed and figured out how to make it work for her by providing access and insured she had good lighting so that we all could be served in main dining room. She unfortunately recently lost her battle with lung cancer. Soon after, my wife and I decided to take our daughter to William & Henry to reminisce and celebrate her life together over a very nice bottle of wine and great meal. What we hadn’t planned on was the reception we received. Jamie Bryant, our waitresses that evening and everyone else who works there are exceptional. They all remembered my mother in law and made our evening very special, and one we will never forget. In our opinion, William & Henry is worthy of at least 1 Michelin star.

The food was delicious. We ordered the crab cakes for the appetizer. It was wonderful. Filet for the main course and Crème Brûlée for dessert. Everything was top of the line and flavorful. The service was great as always.
