    The staff was incredibly helpful in ensuring that the people in our party with a wheelchair and another assisted mobile device were escorted to the handicapped entrance up a level. The lift was secure and up -to-code. Thank you!!

    I had a lovely afternoon tea in the new Tea Room. The food, service and ambiance was wonderful. The glass of Veuve was such a nice touch, and the mango violet shortbread was the best cookie I've ever had. I can't wait to go back with friends.

    A friend and I were thrilled to get a reservation during my weekend visit to DC. To be fair, my rating is low because at the price point of 240.00 for 2 I expected better savories and service. Our server was polite but not attuned to nuances of finer dining. Not a single item was cleared which was shocking and I’d have never left such a generous tip if I’d waited to see that even after politely asking for some items to be cleared she did not. Someone else came to clear and proceeded to noisily empty plates and make such a spectacle of over clearing we were left baffled. The tea tasted fine but the sandwiches were lacking flavors and tasted as if they’d been prepared far too early, evidenced by our tiered service coming out 5 minutes after ordering. Scones weren’t warm. Cream, lemon curd and jam tasted great. We took most sweets home and three of us shared the sugar but no one was impressed. A lovely plate of chocolate covered strawberries with chocolate shavings and other berry types was also brought home. They tasted fine/good, but when you pay more for an upscale tea you expect the handmade sweets and savories to be top notch. There was a harp player and extremely loud parties in the hallway. Fortunately, we were tucked inside. Overall, there was a complete lack of graciousness one would expect at such a tea and for the price point this was an epic disappointment.

    A lovely intimate and cozy ambiance in the tea room as the Alley was too cold. Wonderful service and attention to detail.

    Food was good, some was excellent. Service was excellent. Ambience of tea room is lovely but it's much, much nicer on Fridays and the weekends when they set up tea in the promenade of the hotel. The tea room feels a bit small and cramped by comparison.
