We are a small, family run restaurant since 2002 specialising in carefully sourced Aberdeen Angus beef from Scottish small highland farms, cooked simply but with flair and attention to detail.
Our emphasis is on high quality local ingredients and fresh produce from the best of local suppliers. Beef is selected, prepared and hung for us by Award wining "John Gilmour" of Macmerry master butchers since 1946. Fresh fish are delivered daily by Calum Sinclair and J.K Thompsons. West coast Mussels are delivered fresh daily by "Sea Mcgee". Our venison comes from wild Perthshire deer, lamb from the Scottish Borders. Artisan and farmhouse British cheeses are supplied by renowned Edinburgh cheesemonger, Iain Mellis and dairy produce from Fife Creamery. We take pride to cook everything fresh in our own kitchen daily.
We have outside seating arrangements for walk-Ins only.

I had a lovely meal . The food was excellent, the staff were very helpful. I really enjoyed my evening. I would definitely recommend going .

We had an excellent time! The food was fantastic (the best steaks either of us have had), service was warm and friendly, we felt so welcomed and valued as guests. I’ll definitely be recommending to my friends who live in or visit Edinburgh.

Restaurant was empty. No other people there. Ordered the lunch menu with my parents. They got haggis, i got mussels. Haggis looked poor. Not even a bit of salad to fill the plate, it looked meagre. Mussels were ok but the bread was stale-ish, definitely not fresh. Ordered the rump steaks all round. Parents got there’s but had to wait for cutlery but when they brought after we asked, they gave one of us 3 knives and no fork. Rump steak and side salad, steak was lukewarm and salad was sad looking. Was half way through the steak when the fries eventually arrived. Again, we were the only table. I ate my steak because I was hungry, left the salad and fries. We paid and left. Servers were nice enough but the experience was bad. Very disappointing.

Excellent food, quick service (save a slight delay bringing out one of our starters), slightly cramped but nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again, for the fantastic food.

Intimate dining opportunities in a lovely small, but very welcoming, short order quality restaurant which has remained consistent over the years. Perfectly cooked steaks and delicious sides are a mainstay but seasonal specials from local producers also complement the rest of the quality dishes. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is akin to an old Scottish stone walled dining room.

Wildfire is the ultimate hidden gem! One we would never have found but for Open Table. The restaurant is small, not more than a dozen two-tops. If you don't have a reservation, you do not get in. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is very good. The food is the true kicker. So good that we ate there two nights. Some of the best Cullen skink you'll ever eat. Sea bass, perfectly cooked steaks, jumbo prawns. The best garlic smashed potatoes I have ever eaten. And no matter how full you may be, you have to have the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream.

Food excellent and service friendly. No rushing you. On the day I went it was quiet but we had our own company so that didn’t bother us. There was a special menu for two courses so that was great too.
