Welcome to the White Lion, your go-to family-friendly gastro pub, located in the heart of Bedfordshire. For bookings over 10 give us a call or an email, we'd love to have you! Under new management, we’ve reinvented ourselves to focus on what matters most: quality food, great service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for all ages. Our goal is simple: serve classic pub favourites, but do them right. Always fresh, seasonal ingredients and sourcing locally where possible, we offer a menu that’s hearty and satisfying with a personal touch. Many of our key ingredients, sauces, and garnishes are made in-house, every dish is bursting with flavour and crafted with care. over all the meal was good the service was also good. the only down side the white wine was warm. was offered ice but prefer wine ice cold not with ice watering it down.

We went for the festive menu at the white lion. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was very tasty and good value for money. TWe shall be returning again.

Worst roast dinner I’ve ever had. Taste absolutely disgusting, kind it had been over a hot counter for a long time. No seasoning, dry chicken & overall it really was vile. I will never return. I’m so disappointed with them. They need to up their game, they are getting a really bad reputation.

We had a booking for 5:15 on a Sunday. When we arrived we were refused service because they ‘don’t take bookings at that time’ we took it on the chin and ordered a drink ready to go somewhere else. While we were waiting for our drinks another couple walked in with the same booking time and were seated no problems. We then queried this and the bar staff went back to the chef to ask if we could be seated. This took another 10 minutes before being told we could eat but there would be a long wait time and restrictions on what we could order. We didn’t eat here as we were appalled by the service. The live music in the garden was so loud you couldn’t hear anyone talk inside the restaurant. Would not recommend going here.

Since I learned that there is live music on Fridays and a DJ on Saturdays, I have become a regular at The White Lion. I often come with different groups of friends. The food is also very tasty. I highly recommend it. I wish the kitchen didn't close so early. Since the latest reservation is at 7:30 (which you have to beg for), most of the time we have to eat somewhere else and just come for a drink.

Vegetables were cold / warm Meat was all fat Cauliflower cheese was watery Wll not be going back !

We came for a roast but was a bit disappointed by the lack of veg. Everything was lovely but hardly any vegetables. Also you can tell who the locals are which I appreciate however there is no sound buffer between the bar and the dining area. I had my 7 year old son with me and we had to listen to a rowdy bunch who swore every 5 seconds. It was 5pm on a Sunday so appreciate people want to unwind however feel something should seperate the 2 areas some how or the locals are told to be a bit more mindful of their surroundings and children present. It is a shame as it has put us of coming back and it's local to us and is really lovely inside but just too loud. We were sat under a speaker which didn't help as I feel that was too loud too
