Au White Horse Tavern, nous nous efforçons de créer une nouvelle expérience culinaire contemporaine dans le plus ancien restaurant d'Amérique. Comme les générations avant nous, nous servons du poisson frais, des palourdes et des homards de la baie de Narragansett ainsi que des produits fraîchement récoltés dans les fermes de la région de Rhode Island. Nous avons rejoint la scène culinaire dynamique de RI pour vous servir les meilleurs fromages artisanaux, miels, morceaux de bœuf et du poisson local fraîchement pêché - le tout dans une taverne coloniale ouverte depuis plus de 350 ans. Alors venez nous rendre visite pour goûter au Rhode Island du XXIe siècle dans notre taverne du XVIIe siècle. Vous ne serez pas déçu ! Une tenue correcte est exigée, de type country club ou tenue d'affaires décontractée avec chemise. Les vestons ne sont pas obligatoires. Food, ambiance and value were excellent. It’s a beautiful historical tavern and it’s lovely but dark. The service was fine.

We love this place. Service was spectacular. Food and drinks were excellent. Had no problem parking which is had to find in Newport.

I want to write only amazing things, because we were so excited to go to this historical restaurant, but there were unfortunately some distinct negative points. The most important, there were mice on at least on the 2nd dining floor. We told the server, and they nonchalantly and laughingly responded that someone must have left a door open. There was no concern whatsoever for the safety or health of the patrons. Our waiter was less than communicable or social. He was all business and very brief. I suppose this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn’t the service I would expected for this restaurant. On a final and good note, the food was fantastic. The scallops with bacon, lobster bisque, beef wellington, beef bourguignon were exceptional and well prepared. The desert, bread pudding, was overcooked and charred resulting in a burnt flavor. Of note, we did not witness the mice scurrying around until after dinner.

Wonderful low key restaurant with a great menu. Food was excellent. Top to bottom. Great beer and wine. Service was great. Must visit in Newport

Beef bourguignon was a disappointment. Very heavy, no bright tastes such as small onions etc. the Julia Child recipe for example is much nicer. Swordfish was great and waiter was super.

My wife and I are crisscrossing the country on a quest to have one date in each state while one of us is 50. The inspiration for this journey was the White Horse Tavern. It was the place we chose for our 25th date and to celebrate my 50th birthday. Needless to say our expectations were insanely high…and…WHT not only met our expectations, they exceeded them. America’s truest “if these walls could talk” location, the character, charm, and ambience of this 350+ year old tavern were welcoming and palpable. The service was outstanding. Our waitress, Brittany, was attentive, down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and brought the entire experience to another level. Nick, our wine expert, not only directed us to the perfect bottle wine but he imparted upon his passion for WHT and all things wine. The food was perfectly prepared, plated, and presented. Starting with the three meat/raw cheese charcuterie, our meal got off on the right foot. The beef Wellington was cooked to perfection and so tender. The whipped potatoes and asparagus brought it all together. This house favorite is a must have. The catch of day, swordfish, was tender and delicious. The asparagus and substituted fries were amazing. To close out the night and as my birthday treat, was the delicious house-made crème brûlée. The White Horse Tavern is a must for foodies, historians, locals, and visitors. I cannot say enough great things about our experience. 10/10

Food was very good. Dress policy is non-existant. People had jeans, shorts, polo shirts etc. No one was turned away. A little on the higher end price wise. Overall good restaurant to visit in Newport. Just don't have to wear slacks and long sleeve button down dress shirt anymore

Was honestly disappointed in the food and atmosphere after reading reviews and browsing the website. Unfortunately, the food was not at a standard that justifies the high prices and the ambiance didn’t fully capture the history of the tavern. Our server was lovely, however.

This was my 4th time here, 2nd anniversary celebrated here and it did not disappoint. Outstanding food, professional, and knowledgeable staff, overall outstanding experience.
