Au White Horse Tavern, nous nous efforçons de créer une nouvelle expérience culinaire contemporaine dans le plus ancien restaurant d'Amérique. Comme les générations avant nous, nous servons du poisson frais, des palourdes et des homards de la baie de Narragansett ainsi que des produits fraîchement récoltés dans les fermes de la région de Rhode Island. Nous avons rejoint la scène culinaire dynamique de RI pour vous servir les meilleurs fromages artisanaux, miels, morceaux de bœuf et du poisson local fraîchement pêché - le tout dans une taverne coloniale ouverte depuis plus de 350 ans. Alors venez nous rendre visite pour goûter au Rhode Island du XXIe siècle dans notre taverne du XVIIe siècle. Vous ne serez pas déçu ! Une tenue correcte est exigée, de type country club ou tenue d'affaires décontractée avec chemise. Les vestons ne sont pas obligatoires. All the food was incredible - clam chowder, scallops (maybe the best I’ve ever had), steak frites (truffle fries, yum!), and bread pudding

We were celebrating my husband's birthday and wanted to go to a special place. White Horse Tavern was the perfect choice. The food was outstanding and the service was great. The seating was comfortable and the ambience delightful. If I had any negative comment, it would be that the wine prices are very steep. I researched our wine after we thoroughly enjoyed the bottle, and discovered that the restaurant price is more than double the retail price. I understand restaurant upcharges, but I find this to be excessive.

Food was good all around! The 3 of us had clam chowder - as expected. We had swordfish with a pineapple salsa, lobster ravioli and beef bourguignon. I would have liked smoother and silkier whipped potatoes with the swordfish but really, it was good overall. We started with cocktails and that part of the experience could have been better. The server wasn't very understanding of the comment that seeing a "smoked" cocktail on the menu makes a consumer think the cocktail will be "smoked," not that it will be made with a whisky that was smoked - perhaps in the barrel? and doesn't taste smoked at all. We were not confident it was even the right drink and switched to other beverages. I expected finer service all around. Ambiance is ok. It is an older place after all.

Beef Wellington and Scallops cooked to perfection, needed salt (based on my personal preference). Wished the wellington had the other traditional layers- like mushroom and prosciutto (but also understand that prep time can be a bit much) Attentive wait staff. Old fashions were tasty but a little light. Would definitely come again!
