White Dog Cafe's newest location brings local, seasonal, and sustainable dining to Chester County. The original Vickers Tavern has been completely renovated, and the White Dog Cafe has preserved the building's history while adding chic farmhouse aesthetics and dog-themed decor. The restaurant features seven distinct dining rooms, each with its own unique personality and design. In addition, there is an expansive outdoor patio with a gas fireplace and retractable cover. The open Barn room includes a large oval bar, a sitting area by an open fireplace, and doors leading to the outdoor potting shed. The menu includes several White Dog staples, such as Kennett Square Mushroom Soup, Double Cheddar Burger, Lamb Bolognese, Truffle Fries, and house-made bread baskets from local farms, alongside new additions.

We had been waiting for months for the Chester Springs location to open and weren’t disappointed. The ambience, service and food were all fantastic. Although I rarely order meatloaf, I decided to try the White Dog version and I wasn’t disappointed - it was fantastic! Others in our party ordered the flounder picas and the smoked salmon and they all were very pleased! The noise level was very high because there were so many people there enjoying themselves. This was a wonderful evening!

Beautifully renovated historic tavern in Chester Springs. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food on the other hand was bland and came out cold. Had to send back a dish of pasta to reheat. I just thought for the prices they are charging, the quality would be on point. But left feeling it was mediocre at best.

We had a 20 minute wait past our reserved time. Our server was excellent. She was knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Drinks were great. There was a more than average wait time between courses. Food was good, nothing outstanding but definitely edible. Prices are average. I’d return but maybe not on a Saturday night. They were packed but seemed to be handling it well.

Our waiter Jose’ was friendly and attentive. My partner enjoyed his oysters and his red snapper. His was hot, mine was not. My salmon had to be re-heated. Portions were average. Lovely atmosphere on side porch.

If I had one major complaint, it would be the parking situation. They offer free valet parking, but then tell people that want to park on their own that there is an empty parking lot across the street??? Why are the valet park not parking the cars over there. I waited for 10 minutes for a spot when it was my turn to pull in a valet backed up the wrong way since it’s a one-way and backed a valet car into a spot. Very, very bad set up. The venue was beautiful, they could use more than one bar, food was very good. Service excellent.

Outside dining under the pavilion is very tight and close. Food was good nothing special. Not sure what the base was in the French onion soup but really didn’t care for it. The waiter was amazing - great service!

The meatloaf had too much filler and the vegetables were not cooked. Everything else was great cocktails, service, mushroom soup, fried pickles and filet. All very good but a bit overpriced .
