White Dog Cafe's newest location brings local, seasonal, and sustainable dining to Chester County. The original Vickers Tavern has been completely renovated, and the White Dog Cafe has preserved the building's history while adding chic farmhouse aesthetics and dog-themed decor. The restaurant features seven distinct dining rooms, each with its own unique personality and design. In addition, there is an expansive outdoor patio with a gas fireplace and retractable cover. The open Barn room includes a large oval bar, a sitting area by an open fireplace, and doors leading to the outdoor potting shed. The menu includes several White Dog staples, such as Kennett Square Mushroom Soup, Double Cheddar Burger, Lamb Bolognese, Truffle Fries, and house-made bread baskets from local farms, alongside new additions.

We were seated at a lovely mosaic tiled table in the indoor porch. We split the mushrooms on toast which was plentiful and out of this world delicious. Half a rotisserie chicken with outstanding mac&cheese followed. My dinner mate had the shrimp/scallop dish over pasta. We each had a scoop of the most delicious Basset ice cream. Our waiter was super attentive. I did over hear people complain about the lack of parking but they have a valet if needed.

Beautiful restaurant, great dining experience on the heated patio! The appetizer and meal were delicious and the service was top notch! Will be back to enjoy and will recommend highly.

The fall harvest salad is to die for!!! Also, the apple streusel dessert is so next level! Will be returning soon- love the fall menu for dinner or brunch!

I wanted to love this new local restaurant. I will not be back on a weekend. The noise level was absolutetely awful. We had a 630 reservation on a friday night and there was zero parking. We made our own spot on the grass and another in our party went to a warehouse business next door to park and walk to the restaurant. The noise level was so high we literally could not hear our waitress. It was impossible to have conversation in our table of 7 unless you were seated next to or across from the person talking. It was so loud that the waitress had to repeat what she said at one of the table, to those seated on the other side separately because it was impossible to hear. The bar service and food service took a long time - 1/2 hour for drinks to come; the waitress took a while to come back for our appetizer order but then they came out within 15 minutes; dinner on the other hand did not come out for over an hour. The food was very good - unique in combinations and the presentation was very good. It is a shame the environment and noise level, parking and waitress service was so poor. They will have to change the acoustics if they want people to keep coming back.

Food was very good. Server was attentive initially but then wasn’t available as often during dinner. It was loud so tough for a group of 5 to talk.

We were a group of eight. One of us needed to arrive a bit late. Darby was our server, and she did a great job pacing everything until the last person arrived. A kitchen miss on one order was attended to immediately. Overall, the food was very good, and there are lots of interesting and well-executed choices for any appetite. Steaks could be a bit more tender, but that was the only complaint I heard from one in our party. Service throughout the meal was terrific, thanks to Darby and the staff.

Food is fantastic, so is the ambience. The patio is nice - decent size, covered, well laid out and decorated nicely. Service is also fantastic - Lillian is an absolute gem and genuinely made the night more enjoyable.
