White Dog Cafe's newest location brings local, seasonal, and sustainable dining to Chester County. The original Vickers Tavern has been completely renovated, and the White Dog Cafe has preserved the building's history while adding chic farmhouse aesthetics and dog-themed decor. The restaurant features seven distinct dining rooms, each with its own unique personality and design. In addition, there is an expansive outdoor patio with a gas fireplace and retractable cover. The open Barn room includes a large oval bar, a sitting area by an open fireplace, and doors leading to the outdoor potting shed. The menu includes several White Dog staples, such as Kennett Square Mushroom Soup, Double Cheddar Burger, Lamb Bolognese, Truffle Fries, and house-made bread baskets from local farms, alongside new additions.

What a wonderful surprise to see how the former restaurant has been transformed into an elegant dining experience. We were blown away. We were immediately greeted as we entered with a welcoming tone. Our server was knowledgeable, eager to share her positive experiences about White Dog and checked in to make sure that our food choices were pleasing. This will be a new go-to place for many dining experiences to come.

Beautiful place something to look at wherever you turn. Food was amazing and will definitely be going back.

Kelby was terrific! She was very attentive and provided wonderful service to celebrate my birthday with my close family friends. The food and outdoor seating was perfect. Thank you for a great night🥳

This place is still new, and it is pretty crowded. Our appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts were all absolutely delicious. The fall menu is now available and we ordered the Asian spare ribs with sesame-crusted rice and kimchi and the lamb shank with polenta. We can’t wait to return! Our server, Lauren was fantastic- very professional and kind.

Staff was professional, attentive, and friendly. Checked on frequently. Food was fantastic. If you like French Onion soup, try it, it was very good and a hint different. Meatloaf dish and Lamb Shank entrees were perfect.

Annoyed is how we felt when we left. Let's start with a 7pm dinner reservation and we did not get seated until 7:40pm. Made the reservation a month in advance for a birthday. When checked in the hostess said Happy Birthday and when we finally got seated was given a birthday card, which we ended up using to level our table that was 6" from our neighbors. Then we ended up using a butter knife to try to stop the table from rocking. The brick floors and the tables just don't work together. Oh, and our neighbors had the same issue with their table. Waitress said she leveled them. But guests have to move the table to squeeze into a seat. While we waited we went to the back bar for a drink. We got one drink and the other arrived after the hostess finally came for us to take us to our long awaited table. It took another 5 minutes to pay for it.We told our waitress that we were not in a hurry. We ordered appetizers, the tuna tartar came out, we finished it and then our snack plate came out and then 2 bites in our meals came out. The table was so small all the plates did not fit on the table. Very annoying at $52 for a steak. We skipped dessert because the music was unrecognizable rock and roll music and SO annoying and not soothing at all. We felt like we were at the airport with noise coming at us from all directions. We were in the room with the ugly modern colonial blue shelves. Couldn't wait to leave to clear our heads. Won't be going back anytime soon.
