Whiskey Joe's will be open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner. Takeout, delivery, and catering are available! Reservations available for all seating areas, 7 days of the week. Join us for Live Music every Thursday from 5pm-9pm. Happy Hour is Monday- Thursday from 3PM to 6PM. 4th time visiting this location and absolutely hated it again. We made a reservation at 5:45 and didn’t get pour food until 7:30.. food was for the wrong table first go around and then second time half of the food was cold and or forgotten about. Waiter was kind but they don’t have the cook situated and for that many people in the restaurant… just keeps happening and will never go back.

It took almost 2 hours to get our food. We sat around 8pm, ordered our food by 8:30 and didn’t have any food until 10pm. The food came out at different times so my family was done eating before mine even came out. My veggies were barely cooked. They couldn’t even make the potatoes because they were too backed up so they gave me French fries. Miserable experience, and we’ve been many times so this was a first where the service was just unbelievably terrible.

We came there after our wedding and we were seated in a very uncomfortable hightop by the water at night so it was very chilly. We didn’t get waters for about 45 minutes and our food didn’t arrive for an hour and a half. We ended up, leaving and just boxing it up, but they offered us no compensation for, their lack of timeliness. Will not be going back.

I made a reservation for valentines dinner .. I made it for 6:30 . We were seat promptly. They were wayyyy understaffed.. We ordered .. we didn’t get our food for an hour and 45 minutes . We had our drinks .. the waitress finally came over to do refills which was about an hour after we ordered .my BF never got his drink.. when the waitress came over, she said you want another one . we said we ordered 1 but we never received it. She apologized, but it still took another 25 minutes to get his second drink .. The food was good .alittle pricey.. I asked for a box ( that was a mistake) she never brought it.. then she came over 45 minutes later and just gave us the bill .. I said I still need a box.. she said oh yeah that’s right.. did I get the box ?? No .. I waited another 30 minutes after we paid to get a box . In the meantime, my boyfriend went up to find a box. Service just sucked .. they need to hire more people, especially when it’s a holiday.

Our waitress was very nice given the conditions of staffing. Our 6:15 reservations were honored and we walked right to our table. However, our appetizers took almost an hour (fish bites), and our dinner not only took over 90 minutes to show up, but both the ribs and the shrimp in the shrimp tacos were burnt and barely warm. The fries with the ribs were cold and old. The tables around us were not cleared which caused napkins and other debris to blow around in the sand, by the water. The manager came and did not charge for our meal or drinks. We did not eat them so that was nice. We gave our waitress a generous tip and left. It was a very disappointing Valentine’s Day dinner and dinner experience. We appreciate that management could clearly see the issues and did not charge us. We are local and frequent Whiskey Joes several times a year and have never had such a disappointing experience as this.

The drinks and apps were great, server was great. The steak was terrible and unfortunately they had great outdoor entertainment that was hard to hear, as they had a radio blasting over it. The atmosphere was top notch.

Horrible service, food completely cold, waited an hour for drinks, and when they came they were warm. Waitress very nice but oblivious. Two other tables left after an hour of waiting to order. I spoke with Zach, the asst manager, who was wonderful, and very apologetic, and comped our meals and drinks. Julie, the waitress, had no clue what was going on, never checked up on us, was very nice, but not happy we got comped and told us Zach didn't have the authority to comp the meal. We didn't even ask for that, he insisted. Julie said I don't know of anything else I could have done to make your experience nothing but amazing. We all tipped her, not the normal 25%, and went on our way. Once my sliders that were ordered well done and came out rate were brought back cooked correctly, they were delicious, but by that time everyone else had eaten. Not sure we will try again, but might - just because Zach was so kind. Good luck!

Whiskey Joe's in Ellenton has a beautiful location on the river with a large covered deck and nice beach area. Reservations are available and have always been honored. Food is what you would expect from a waterfront bar/restaurant, good not gourmet, service on multiple visits has been friendly and professional even at busy times. Prices are somewhat high. The only downside is noise. It sits beside an entrance ramp to the I-75 bridge and large trucks climbing the ramp are sometimes overwhelmingly noisy for patrons on the deck even in the evening. If you can, get seated on the West side of the deck, farthest away from the bridge. Overall, we enjoy Whiskey Joe's and always visit several times during our winter stay in the area. Bonus, they allow well behaved dogs on the deck.
