In June 1896, the trolley system that linked St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, and Elgin, IL began to offer service to local citizens. Overhead wires that ran along the track supplied the power to the single, open-air cars.

The trolley came from South Elgin and traveled along the east side of the river, through the St. Charles Country Club and along Route 25. From Main Street, it went west, crossed over the bridge, and turned south on 3rd Street to go to Geneva.

It was at this last turn that conductors would stop the trolley and allow passengers to disembark for a quick drink to warm up during the winter months. Welcome back to Whiskey Bend.

Cool old venue, updated nicely. Good was just ok. My wife had the wrong thing delivered - it happens. They comped it. Which was very nice. When they brought the right thing it was Theon together and the watermelon at bottom of salad should never have been served. It was mush Server was sweet. Outdoor is really nice Wanted to love it, But had hope for a bit more. Will give it another shot

First time here. We liked it! Service was very good. I highly recommend the shareable build your own Mac and Cheese! We added short rib, bacon and sautéed spinach - sooooo good! Very creamy and delicious. Now if you don't want to share, this could be your main meal. It's huge! All the food was good. My husband only had one note on his meal ... he ordered the Tuna tomato melt with a side of potato salad. Both items was way too mayonnaise forward - especially the Tuna. It would benefit from less, much less mayo with the Tuna and a little less for the potato salad. Red Curry Fish tacos good! Fries good! We shared the bread pudding for dessert --- that was excellent! Thanks for a lovely Father's Day dinner. We will be back.

The waitress was nice but she didn’t fill out drinks and it took her a long time to grab our check and credit card. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. I love this place so I will be back!

We love going to Whiskey Bend. They have great food and drinks. The staff is always friendly. The outdoor patio is really nice. It can get a little loud sometimes.

Food was very good. Had great server- she never gave her name; however, her dinner recommendations were great !!

We came for dinner, I wouldn’t do that again. Food was subpar, which was a bummer because their menu looked great. I would come back for drinks only, but do not recommend dining here.

When we got there it did take a bit for a waitress to come by. Once she realized we were there she was on point with the service.

The food and drinks are EXCEPTIONAL! Cool atmosphere. We sat inside but the courtyard looked very inviting and fun! Next time we will sit there. My only note is that our server was not friendly and very inattentive

Love Whiskey Bend! We had a wonderful waitress who was spot on friendly yet professional and the Brunch items were very good. There were 5 of us and the only thing we all agreed on was why it took us SO LONG to get our food? We were literally the ONLY people in there and eggs shouldn't require a 30+ minute wait?
