We’re so excited to bring Whalers to Bay Shore and share our love of amazing food and great drinks with the community. Our menu is modern American cuisine, so you’ll find the classics that you’re used to but with our own little spin. In addition to our casual dining and nightlife, we also offer full catering services. With huge windows and views of the Great South Bay, Whalers will be the perfect location to host your next event!

We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but we cannot guarantee where you will be seated. Additionally, reservations are unavailable for dockside dining, as outdoor tables are first come first serve.

Whalers is modern and fresh with a nod to what it’s like growing up on the Great South Bay. Located right in the middle of the action down on Maple Ave, we are looking forward to getting customers who live locally, but also those who are heading over to Fire Island.

    Came here for a bridal shower lunch, table staff were excellent, food was delicious. Mussels, burrata, calamari, baked clams for app. Lobster Cobb salad, lobster roll, cauliflower, grilled chicken, short ribs were all fantastic. No complaints at all. Valet for customers and they were amazing as well. Restaurant handed me a gift card when leaving 10/10 would recommend

    Sea bass special was delicious and the view cannot be beat. A great restaurant, reasonably priced, for a night on the water.

    We had family come in from out of town last minute and were accommodated at Whaler’s so wonderfully! The staff was so warm and welcoming and every dish we ordered was better than the next. Special shout out to the surf and turf which was a show stopper on the plate as well as on your taste buds. Our out of town relatives loved the views from the upstairs dining area!

    We had a reservation for 7:45 and was seated promptly which was great (group of 6). However it all went downhill from there. After being seated they filled our waters but didn’t see our water for what seemed like a solid 15 minutes. After he took our drink orders, it then took over 35 minutes to get the first round. Once we received them, I asked him to put in another round knowing that it was going to take a while. After he dropped off our drinks, he then took our food orders (mind you it’s not 8:30-8:45). The server was great in letting us know what he liked/didn’t like or what would be a better option given that it was a busier night. After another 30 minutes we had not seen our waiter and drinks finished, we asked a random staffer if he could get our waiter so we could see where the other round of drinks were. After he came back to the table, he said he never put the order in and would do it immediately all the while never updating us on where our food was at. Finally when the next round of drinks came (mind you it’s now 9:15) and he said our food should be out shortly. It wasn’t until 9:30 that we finally received our food…which now leads to a problem with everyone’s dish. The filet was cooked to medium well when we asked for medium rare and the mashed potatoes were cold, the fra diavlo pasta was mush and seemed like it was just warmed up. The salmon was half the size of the table next to us, the scallops were overcooked and hard, the seafood risotto was also overcooked and the calamari rubbery (we also never received another dish to dispose of the mussel or clam shells so I had to put them on the table), and finally the cod was cold. After the staff dropped off our food, we tried yet again to find our waiter to let him know about our orders, however we sucked it up and ate our dishes because we didn’t want to wait for new food knowing that it already took over 1.5 hours just to receive our first dishes. Needless to say we will not be returning…
