I had the scallops to start which were divine. Not overdone and the tomato sauce complimented it so well. The black pudding with the scallops was new to me but such a lovely experience, especially as I don't usually like black pudding! For mains, I had the Cotswolds Lamb and my Papa had the Halibut which we both loved. We added some stem broccoli and new potatoes sides. More than enough food. It was so yummy. For desert I had the chocolate melt. All in all very yummy food, washed down with a brilliant Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc. A fantastic meal in a pretty and intimate restaurant. The lavender on the table is a lovely touch. The only note I would make is that in my reservation I mentioned I was there to celebrate my 27th birthday with my father. There was no mention or acknowledgement of this in spite of it being a fairly small and intimate restaurant. Not a huge deal at all, but just a small detail and opportunity to show attention to detail missed! I would advise to remind the Front of House if you are there for a special occasion :)

Excellent food, really well presented. Quite a lack of vegetarian food however (1 starter, 1 main). Lack of communication with the waiter, who when asked about cumin in the main dish (my wife has an intolerance) proudly announced that yes there was cumin. When my wife said there was nothing she could eat he then said that she could have the dish without. We found that all dishes weren't exactly as described. Various unidentifiable elements to the main, and on the dessert - a set custard with whisky granola, there was a disc of gelatinous something or other, which we seriously doubted was vegetarian. Overall a pleasant meal, but not cheap! Over £150 for 2!

Booked online for the Fathers Day Lunch . Food was excellent. Lovely unhurried atmosphere and the house and gardens are beautiful . Will go again.

Beautiful property set in stunning location. Rooms were of a very high standard in keeping with the building character. Very good food at reasonable prices. All staff- including the manager - were friendly and helpful. We will return!

A lovely restaurant with wonderful staff but the food is the star. The presentation? Immaculate. The textures? Playful. The portions? Adequate. The flavours? Revelatory.

We visited the hotel as passing guests having booked a table on line. We were disappointed at the menu choices for food.
