The Wells Fargo Steakhouse is always a good place to eat and drink. Friendly and familiar staff, and amazing food. Dave Walker on Fridays is one of my primary draws. The restaurant has gone above and beyond for me over the years, and I'm hoping the good times can continue perennially.

We had a really wonderful night in Virginia City. If your staying in Ennis it is worth the drive over the pass. Wish they would stay open all year but we will be back next summer if the chef comes back! Really great meal. Hard working staff. Everyone needs to keep in mind that these small towns are working with minimal staffing, so be patient and enjoy your vacation.

We had friends in town visiting and they wanted to take us to dinner. We prefer to patronize our local establishments so suggested Wells Fargo Steakhouse. I write this for our party of 4, and, who all recognize and sympathize with the staffing challenges establishments are dealing with these days. However, we don’t feel our issues were due to staffing. We had a 6 p.m. reservation, 9/12/21, and were seated promptly. Our server Shannon, was actually also, the proprietor she told us. They were out of the wine we desired, and out of two of their listed appetizers. Not deal breakers, but evidence that they were obviously cleaning out their pantry and not re-stocking as they were closing 9/18/21 for the season. We weren’t offered a bread basket and when we requested one, Shannon told us that yes, you have to request it as if they just bring it and the guests don’t want it, it goes to waste. I understand, as I hate waste, however, maybe the servers should ask instead of making us guess if it is coming and/or then have to flag them down… and then when you do request one, not have to wait 10 minutes for it. Three of us ordered the Caesar salad and one had the house salad. The Rommaine lettuce was withered and tired. We waited for the fresh cracked pepper, but none was ever offered; once we requested it, it arrived 8 minutes later… after our salads were almost gone. Three of us ordered steaks, after all, it is a steakhouse, all three were over cooked and cool. We told Shannon, her response was "hmmm, I’ll talk to the chef about it.”

Another delicious meal while enjoying the music of a rock and roll legend Dave Walker! Thanks again, with the season coming to an end, we will certainly miss this…till next year!

Despite staffing shortage the service was outstanding. The food was excellent. My only criticism would be that there were too many French fries. My serving could have fed 5 people! Overall really good. Hope, our young waitress, was absolutely outstanding!!
