Nestled at the beginning of the Pyrenees Wine region , Wayward offers an incredible view of the Pyreness Ranges and our established Vineyard.

Australian inspired cuisine using local seasonal produce with an emphasis on cooking with fire.

Open 11am - 4pm Friday to Sunday
EMBR Nights 6:30pm - 10pm Friday & Saturday Nights

We ordered the grazing platter, the smoked hummus dip and the empanadas. The food was very nice and we would recommend all of the items we ordered. The service was great, very friendly owner and food delivered in good time. This is a nice spot with great views and nearby grapevines to look out at - and lots of hares running around the vines! Would be very nice here in Summer

Absolutely sensational food and service. Highly recommend you take the short trip out of Ballarat for an amazing fine food and wine dining experience. We will be back!!! 😍

The place we arrived at was nice quiet and small very worm and relaxing service was excellent and very helpful and friendly and ofcorse very professional the food was excellent and on time could not ask for more.

Wayward offers a delightful dining experience with a cozy ambiance, attentive service, and a diverse menu. The dishes are flavourful and beautifully presented, catering to various tastes. Perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. Highly recommend their wine and food. A must-visit!

Enjoyed the food, service and view. Well worth the short drive from Ballarat. Smaller plates are… aptly named… but delicious. The smoked peas in the tart added a great touch to the offering, and who doesn’t like the combination of brie and prosciutto I ask? Chicken with cauliflower puree and olive crum (sic) worked well. The chorizo pizza was outstanding. Excellent base and the fermented peppers added a lovely crunch. Perfectly cooked in the magnificent wood fired pizza oven. We shared the nifty rum baba with mandarin and whipped mascapone. We both gave the WOW (Wines of Wayward) Prosecco and the WOW Riesling the thumbs up. The wood fire kept the room warm and braver souls than we two, sat outside on one of the veranda tables.

Very welcoming and great service. Good was nice without being great (not we had a set menu). It is quite loud inside but great views & vista on a nice day. We’ll go back when it is a la carte
