Amazing food served quickly with really friendly staff. Great location sat on the balcony looking at the sea.

Great restaurant and bar. We live in Manchester and go to Watergate Bay 3 times a year for the last 15 years. It’s our “go-to” restaurant for fantastic views of the sea, brilliant service and quality food. On the nights we don’t want to go out we also use their take-out service. I highly recommend trying Wax.

Great location, the staff are superb - staff are always amazing - but two gripes … Never any “Offshore” on tap (have you considered Korev?) They removed “fried pickles” off the menu … I mean really !?

We were sat in the covered outside area which had broken zips on the windbreak walls which had a poor attempt at being fixed, this meant we had a very blustery experience. Unfortunately it spoilt our dinner as was very cold. When asked how our meal was when we paid I explained it wasn’t very comfortable because of the windy table and was greeted with the reply “well I’m hot” by the waitress so that was the end of that conversation! We have eaten at Wax many times so this was very disappointing. A little maintenance would go a long way.

Booked a table in the restaurant and ordered at the bar our food as told to. No table service. Waited an hour and half for 2 burgers. Was not told this before hand when we ordered the food. If we knew this we would have gone somewhere else. Went up to the bar after an hour and 15 to be told won’t be long. Toilets were dirty and females light didnt even work in theirs. We won’t be coming back here again. Staff didn’t really look to fussed and just picked up empty’s and finished plates. Sitting there that long we could see what they did. Didn’t even see a table wiped down. Waiting that long it would have been nice for someone to come see us and update us there is a wait. Not even a sorry or offer of a discount on money back. Very poor service

We had booked a table but there was no one we could easily say that too this time (second visit of our holiday - there was a wonderfully attentive manager the first time we visited). The food was mostly good - I had the crispy squid and at least 20% of the rings were inedible. The server who cleared our table was understanding and took the feedback but an apology from the kitchen/manager would have gone a long way. I chose not to have desert (the main put me off a little) but our waitress (Alex) - who had already been very lovely with us, made a massive fuss of our dog and interacted beautifully with our 9-year-old son - made a point of bringing out an extra spoon for me…just in case I changed my mind. It was a really small gesture but it was done in such a lovely way it definitely cheered my meal! She definitely ‘saved the day’!!
