Join Landlord Stuart and Head Chef Helder for breakfast, lunch or supper at the Wattenden Arms. Built over 150 years ago we are a hidden gem close to the famous Kenley Aerodrome. Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order. We welcome the local & wider community, walkers, cyclists & four legged friends and open daily from 10am.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The new decor is just right for its surroundings. Unfortunately our Sunday roast was cold but the staff immediately rectified it by replacing our dinners with piping hot succulent sirloin beef and vegetables. They even discounted some of our bill which was welcomed. Overall we enjoyed a very tasty Sunday lunch in a lovely atmosphere.

I haven't visited The Wattenden for a meal for 3 years. Our party of 4 were made to feel welcomed by the staff uponn arrival. The lunchtime menu was well priced. We were pleased with our food. The service was good and friendly. All four of us will return again soon.

Lovely meal at the Wattenden last night. Some classics on the menu but also some refreshingly different dishes on offer. Service was great too.

Lovely experience for Sunday lunch. Absolutely delicious The only reason there was not five stars was my children did not thoroughly enjoy the burgers they had.. Thank u B x

Thank you Barb, sorry the kids didn't enjoy the burgers :( We're really proud of the 100% prime West Country beef burgers and sourdough buns but taste is subjective - and kids know their burgers! We really hope to see you all again soon.

We came here as it's our local pub. We'd heard that the pub had new owners and decided to give it a try. We had a chicken Sunday roast which was fab, lovely crispy roast potatoes and the service was excellent. Decor much improved too! We will becoming back 😋👍😊😊 Jan and Chris

The pub can improve enormously with the interior made smarter. Scruffy chairs and tables do not impress first time people

Stephen thanks for this and thank you for visiting us. We are in the middle of a refurbishment. New furniture, flooring and toilets are scheduled over the next few months and we hope you have a more comfortable and enjoyable visit next time (although the tables are all recently refurbished and we are receiving many positive comments on the pub refurbishment so far!)

Staff polite . Disappointed with mediocre Sunday lunch , priced at £19.50!!! Beef took a lot of chewing . Vegetables consisted of 2 carrot sticks, hardly steamed cabbage and child’s size potion of potatoes, very crispy Yorkshire pudding. Didn’t bother with dessert. Botley hill farm pub much better and cheaper. Will not be using the Wattenden arms again.

Lorna, Thank you for this; we are saddened to read it and don’t recall you mentioning this to us on Sunday. If your meal was so bad we would’ve changed it; added more vegetables, ensured you left satisfied. No servers can recall any of this this when check backs were made; if we are wrong here then please reach out again to hello@wattendenarms.co.uk so that we can follow up. Our prices are far less than the other establishment you mention - we know it very well - and they have been operating for a long time. We have been at the Watt for a couple of months and are making a go of a new business. Whilst we are very sorry and disappointed that we have failed you we feel your review is unnecessarily.
