Join Landlord Stuart and Head Chef Helder for breakfast, lunch or supper at the Wattenden Arms. Built over 150 years ago we are a hidden gem close to the famous Kenley Aerodrome. Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order. We welcome the local & wider community, walkers, cyclists & four legged friends and open daily from 10am.

Lovely well cooked breakfast, great quality ingredients, my partner had the vegetarian option and stated that the veg sausages were delicious. Lovely setting service very good and the coffee was excellent. A bit pricey than norm but as a treat lovely. will definitely do again.

Really great friendly pub. Lovely people. Wouldn’t mind if they added something healthy to the menu, eg and interesting salad with chicken that is not deep fried

We do have a fabulous house salad, Caesar salad served with chicken, halloumi or salmon on the menu along with fresh fish dishes and a vegetable club sandwich. We really enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Wattenden Arms. There were a couple of minor issues that were dealt with quickly. The food was outstanding, especially the sharing roast platter and the chocolate brownie. The teens also enjoyed their burgers. It's nice to visit a pub that didn't feel like you were at a chain restaurant. The team were welcoming and friendly, even though it was busy. We will definitely be back.

A fantastic Sunday lunch in an outstanding local pub. We walked over from Caterham on the Hill and weren’t disappointed. A very clean and cosy, welcoming pub with a friendly team. The roast was delicious and our son loved his sausage and mash. We hope the new team weren’t disheartened by a table near ours, as it seemed they were going to complain whatever. Everyone else in the pub were obviously having a great time. Congrats to the new owners and team.

Mid-week lunch in autumn. It is clear how much effort has been put in to this pub - congratulations! The food was very good (fish and chips, steak pie) and better value than many other places. Cloth napkins on table noticed and appreciated! First pint of GK IPA pulled seemed not-quite-right, but readily replaced when mentioned. Inside could have been warmer, but this is not uncommon in UK at this time of year, when getting the heating on in time doesn't always happen. With a choice of three hand-pulled ales, some more variety would be welcome. Overall very happy, will return and recommend to others. Thank you.

Martin, many thanks for your kind and supportive review. We took over in June and have been awaiting works to be carried out on our two fireplaces. We hope to have the fires lit within the next couple of weeks! See you soon.

We were welcomed in a friendly and helpful manner. One of our foursome is gluten intolerant. The waiter was helpful explaining which dishes were gluten free. The portions were generous and well presented. We look forward to our next visit.

Thank you for this Vanessa. Thankfully the speaker system we inherited when we took over the pub in June is being replaced this month - currently it plays very loud in the rear dining room or very softly; apologies that this created a lack of atmosphere. Our prices are comparable to other local independent pubs - we are not a chain and all of our ingredients are fresh and freshly prepared/cooked. We never clear plates until everyone at the table has finished and again, we are sorry that there seems to have been a problem here. We are proud of our pub and team and take constructive criticism seriously. We appreciate your review.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The new decor is just right for its surroundings. Unfortunately our Sunday roast was cold but the staff immediately rectified it by replacing our dinners with piping hot succulent sirloin beef and vegetables. They even discounted some of our bill which was welcomed. Overall we enjoyed a very tasty Sunday lunch in a lovely atmosphere.

I haven't visited The Wattenden for a meal for 3 years. Our party of 4 were made to feel welcomed by the staff uponn arrival. The lunchtime menu was well priced. We were pleased with our food. The service was good and friendly. All four of us will return again soon.
