Arrived for an overnight stay for our anniversary. Staff went over & beyond to accommodate our need & made it special. Compliments to the chef, the starters were out of this world with amazing flavors & great presentation. Highly recommend the duck, scallops & the steak for main. Lovely setting within the watermill wheel itself with a great ambient feel. We will definitely be returning at some point. Great experience all round.

Quality of cookery was poor for the price. Both my husband and I went for scallop starter and we both found scallops over done and chewy. My husband had duck for main, again he found it over cooked. I had risotto dish with squid which again was over cooked and rubbery. I had the choux pastry pistachio dessert was very soggy. Rather disappointed in the food and would not go back even though we came back to celebrate anniversary in the place we got married 16 years ago. We were very impressed with the excellent friendly and professional service though and could not fault any of the interactions with the restaurant or bar staff.

The event was very disorganised. We'd been asked to order beforehand, but all the pre-orders were apparently lost and we were asked to produce emails to show what we had ordered. Orders came to the wrong tables. Drinks took ages to arrive. There were long gaps between courses and they apparently forgot to bring our desert. The other diners had the same experience and we were joking with them about it and laughing at the staff.

We arrived about 10 minutes before we were due to be seated for valentine meal and unceremoniously told to go and wait in the foyer, Our pre ordered starter was then served some 45minutes later after we were seated, and my partner’s vegetarian meal was poor. Overall, our experience of the valentines evening was poor and was a huge disappointment to us. Not go value for money on this occasion

The overall experience was very good. Food was excellent although menu a bit limited. Our waiter was very professional and polite and the ambience in the restaurant was very comfortable.

Food was amazing! All of it cooked and presented perfectly. There was a bit of a misunderstanding as I was sent a menu earlier in the week to choose from and when we arrived was given a different menu and told the other wasn't available, the food choice is limited. The staff were very helpful and arranged for us to have the original menu.
