Established in 1997 Waraji has been offering an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi & authentic Japanese cuisine. We also feature a unique selection of Japanese microbrewery rice-based beers. Our sushi menu includes the highest quality sushi and sashimi and a wide variety of specialty house rolls (Scary Jerry, The Waraji, Hinata, and The Sweet Dragon just to name a few) Our authentic kitchen offers a full menu of tempura, teriyaki grilled items, nabeyaki udon, shabu shabu hotpot, A5 wagyu, ishiyaki. Chef Masa, with over 30 years of sushi experience, invites you to join him and his staff for a true taste of Japan.

Waraji recently renovated and added an Izakaya Bar/Lounge carrying the largest Sake and Japanese Whiskey selection in the Carolinas, along with many beers on Tap including Japanese Beers like Kyoto Bakushu Matcha (Green) IPA only served exclusively here at Waraji. Also, we carry Japanese Beers in Bottles and Cans like Orion, Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi, and Echigo Koshihikari

I have been a devoted diner at Waraji since Masa opened the restaurant in 1997. This was my second visit since Masa retired. I was concerned that there might be a quality decline, but those fears were unfounded. We sampled three appetizers, Ika butter, shrimp & vegetable tempura and Gyoza, all of which were spot on before pigging out on nigiri and some fabulous specialty rolls. It was a pricey dinner, but the food and the service were worth it.

Downhill since the expansion. Quality on all fronts just not worth the money. More expensive than all my recent experiences in NY or DC. Food was OK. Good menu selection.

Best Japanese in Raleigh for a long time. The best tuna you can get around here.

This was our second time here. This visit was a bit chaotic, the meals took a long time to come out. One appetizer was forgotten, after the meals were delivered, but they did remedy it. The drinks came after food was being delivered. Our server looked to have a different sections. Outside and two other dining areas. He seemed frazzled. "Mama" was definitely integral in expediting our drinks and food. We'll go back, the food is delicious. But it definitely was an off night. In lieu of the wait time, a kind offer of maybe a dessert or something, would've been appreciated.

The sushi was outstanding, very fresh and melt-in-your mouth, toro was worth the cost Very attentive service without being intrusive We sat outside on patio which was quiet and allowed us to talk, it is noisier inside The restaurant is located in a busy strip mall

wonderful food to branch out with. service was so busy, and they made sure to check on us during the wait time for our food. music was loud, hard to hear at times. Overall, great place!
